    It can and does, but you need to provide clean 5v to the board as the 5v in the Nomad is quite noisy and can affect the audio.

    Should the international option for the Mega AMP v1.2 be clicked for shipping to Canada?

    Just ordered the MegaAMP. The SNES connector works amazingly on my NES RGB mod. Looking forward to completing this :)

    Not sure I follow what your saying, you just pay the amount and I do the shipping and the shipping options involved with it.

    It's been a long time since I had anything shipped from US to Canada and didn't have a full understanding of the 2 paypal links. I had a look at it. Shipping outside of the US would be international, that would include Canada. Sorry.

    Is there an installation guide for the Mega Amp? I know there's the picture on the main post, but the numbering on the capacitors looks different on mine. It's a Genesis model 2 Revision VA3 USA board.

    So the resistors and caps in this image are labeled differently than your board?

    post an image of this area from your board and I can determine if it's just labeled differently or actually different and we might need to look for an alternative install but I doubt that will be the case.

    No! That looks right, I guess I missed a link to other boards. That just looks slightly different than the installation picture on the first post (looking at the numbering on the caps). So remove those caps for 5V and Ground and replace them with a solder bridge, then wire to the amp board? (Sorry for the noob question)

    You bridge those 2 resistors left over pads then use that bridge for 5v and GND to the AMP board.

    @Helder ,
    I have a VA2.3 and I'm not sure what to do with the Sega CD passthrough points. The instructions for a couple of the other boards mention using a 1k ohm resistor, but what do I do on a VA2.3?

    Finished installing the board but something has gone wrong. When I power it on there's a very loud studdering feeback. Can anyone take a look at this and tell me where I went wrong?

    Well, I never could figure out what was wrong with the VA2.3 install. Everything looked right, and no one was interested in offering any advice or commentary helpful or otherwise. Thankfully I labeled all of the components as I removed them from the board, and the console worked fine when the original components were put back in.

    So instead I bought a cheap VA1 Model 2 and tried that one instead. This time everything worked beautifully.

    The Sega CD passthrough was confusing mostly because I didn't realize the Mega Amp 2.0 board wasn't designed with the passthroughs in mind so there are no solder pads provided for them, and other than the VA1-1.8 boards you need additional circuitry not provided by the amp. After reading through Ace's diagrams I eventually figured out what to put where on the VA1. (It didn't help that the TL072C's label was mostly scraped off so I didn't know what it was).

    The audio is easily comparable to my launch model 1 now - possibly a bit louder. Would still love to know what went wrong on the VA2.3 though - the console is fine and the board is fine. So either 1) I did something wrong that wasn't on the wiring diagram, 2) my VA2.3 is different than the ones that have been tested thus far 3) something is wrong with the board I received that only applies to the jumper config for 2.3.

    Sorry I couldn't help out sooner, I have found out that if you don't have a stable 5v signal on the VA2.3 you will have bad audio like you had since the circuit require proper reference voltage that is only obtained by 5v. Here is a picture of where I tap 5v on the VA2.3.

    Thanks! I'll have to get another MegaAmp and try again with that one.
