They are the boot parameters for the EE and IOP, you'll find them interesting as you can switch to component output as well.

Damn it look at the lovely PS2 Tool and the pile of NPDP Gdev units, plus the Gamecube unit on the left! I wish that was my office!

Ah... So, the PCMCIA slot is replaced with a built-in LAN port. But do I spy 3 RJ-45 sockets on that backplane?

Hmm. I tried playing with the EE boot parameter, but still didn't get any output with component. I think I tried 18 (10010). I'll play more later, but what value did you use?

Just got myself a socket 370 Pentium III 733MHz CPU for free from a mate to test/replace the Celeron 566 in my TOOL, will probably only come around to it later this week tho.. i'll keep you guys informed ;)

PS: that 15k TOOL is really sweet! does look like it has some extra NIC's no idea what they would of been used for? tho the one of the right looks like a standard 3com/intel or whatever network card and not part of the original build.. but not sure.

Taking the TOOL with the Celeron 566 socket 370: bios CPU frequency settings goes to up X12, at the moment x 8.5 (this Celeron has a 66MHz FSB) FSB can be set up to max: 166MHz so theorectially it could do 2000MHz (12x166), but the fastest 370 intel CPU is PIII 1.4GHz/133FSB
Looking at the Bios settings it should all be possible, tho I want to see the first one that has the balls to overlclock it lol ;-) so I'll just stick to testing at original CPU speeds.
Will also check the possibility to upgrade the memory (at the moment 128MB/100MHz) curious what it takes max.
All this would make a decent linux workstation ;)

The P233MMX is not upgradable as this is the fastest socket 7 CPU , but I don't know how far you can push the bios settings to overclock it as I don't own one, maybe somebody that does can check?

Matt, what is the connector above the rj45 for ?
Have you unscrewed the two metal plates?
About the board on the right, is it the performance analyzer?

Here was me thinking that 2 RJ-45 sockets on my PS2 Tool was overkill - but 3! Why indeed?

<I have a PCMCIA card for the external HDD sticking out the back of my T10000 and it came with it attached, which made me think the external HDD worked with this particular model! Anyway, hence the additional RJ-45>

That's it... I want to see a customised Tool with go-faster stripes, a clear case (seeing the internals would be great), water cooling and a LCD display that folds into the side of it. It needs to be done! ;-)

And since theres a notch in the backplate metal especially for the 3rd RJ-45, that card is there by Sony's design, I'd say. Perhaps they hang some kind of network monitor off it?

Parris, it's not as bad as it sounds, the worst case scenario is that you make an .iso of your game, patch it to master and burn it.

The connector above the RJ45 is labelled 'Trig In' - i have no idea whatsoever what it does, sorry :(

the right hand network card does look like a standard 3-com etc. nic.

    Cheers
