My buddy's find today...al Xbox

Just as long as it doesn't get sold to an asshole I'm happy.

 

After seeing the picture with all the orange lids and watching Hex1gon's video detailing his chat with the Microsoft guy. I am startled why more of these lids have not been discovered yet. On the picture I count around 30 orange lids and from what I read they made multiple batches and sent them to Microsoft in Redmond? There was only one picture online of the lid that was found in 2008. So only 2 lids and 1 complete unit have been found since the original XBOX days. Do you guys know if the lids were tossed out/shredded when they arrived to Redmond? I do not know the whole story and our Microsoft expert kind of disappeared

Were all the other colors like red, the beaded one, and glow in the dark end up not making it to Redmond in the end? Were there any other colors he mentioned and did he ever get back to you with more pictures or was that it?

 

That was it for the time being, Ive shared what he has told me about other colors. Most things were scrapped, literally.

Yeah, since E was talking with people directly, I didn't really need to be involved on the thread anymore. We couldn't make the Orange Xbox pull an appearance at PRGE, but my group is looking at doing a pretty huge original Xbox thing at PRGE this year, and I'm going to be asking E if he'd be willing to have it on display.

 

Just watched the Metal Jesus youtube video and was very impressed. I still remember when I found the official orange XBOX lid on the regular console at a thrift store for $5 and I was skeptical at the beginning. Actually I had the same reaction as Emilio. At first I thought it was a third party case and then I saw the Microsoft logo underneath the plastic. That got me a little excited. And when I tried to look it up on the phone I could not find any information on it. Hex1gon was the expert and verified it for me that it was authentic. I found the lid at the beginning of last year and Emilio found his later the same year with the Microsoft employee revealing everything on these orange XBOX's. Now we need someone to find that glow in the dark and other color variants. That will be very cool to have a display at PRGE.

O OK we'll I just stumbled upon all this info today so its all new to me. I didn't even know they made a halo edition Xbox until a few hours ago. Really cool thread by the way it was near looking at all the picture of the factory.

 

Yea, halo editions are normally green. Its an extremely rare Xbox that's for sure but 25k rare? I don't think so.

 

Nah, $25,000 is a bit high. I can see it going anywhere from $5000-$10000 depending on collector. I sold two 2005 LT sets for 3K each back years ago, so who knows. It's always a buyers market. Value is based on how badly someone wants it.

 

Even those figures are crazy.. Maybe if I was more wealthy I wouldn't think so, but there's so many better things to throw that amount of money on.

 

Yeah I thought it was a bit high, bit you never know someone might just pay that for it. It had over 400 people watching it when I saw it.

 

Did the Halo Orange XBOX sell? I do not see it on ebay anymore. The reason I ask is because I want to figure out how much my orange lid would go for?
