I've been quietly enjoying other people's collections and thinking "Wow!" at many of them and "Awesome!" at others. I rarely take my lot out of storage in the lock-up, but as a special treat (mostly to my sad old self (the look I got from the wife says it all)) here are some of my lot. Not included are retail units, LE editions or my Nintendo stuff (a couple of items to add before letting it loose!) and software. Enjoy!

I'd really like a PS1 development kit one day, oh and a Katana, and perhaps a....... <okay, it goes on a bit!>

Very impressive as always parris  I never realized how much dev rated stuff you had and also how big the PS2 tool is :eek:h:. Thanks for sharing

Very nice indeed but enlighten me please, I've never really had an interest in PS2 or Xbox dev stuff so know not what some of them are.

The unit the PSP is sitting on and the boxed smaller Xbox type PC, what are they?

The PSP is sitting on top of a PSP Test unit, akin to the PS2 Test, but for PSP. It means you can debug PSP titles on either UMD or on DVD. It works on retail titles too and has a VGA output, meaning you can use it on a monitor or VGA equiped TV. The PSP is connected by a long cable to the front of the tower unit and cannot be used for anything else as it has no memory stick insert or UMD drive (both of which are on the tower itself).

It will become obsolete* when the new PSP is released, as will many of the features as you can already connect a standard PSP (with some modification) to a TV already (or so I believe, having never tried it). (*...in the sense that the features that make this interesting to someone using it for retail playback on a TV, would find it on a standard PSP).

The boxed Xbox style unit is indeed a boxed Xbox 360 SKU. That's to say it's actually a prototype pre-release casing and is practically the same as the retail version. One minor detail is incorrect in that the tray is like a Core edition and the eject button is like a Premium one. Other than that it has a few stickers on the rear and bollock all inside it. Empty you see, but a few people have suggested turning it into a PC.

Thanks for the comments. I have a few other dev items, but they will be added some other time - nothing major.

The thing is i knew you had all this stuff, but displayed like this i`m really in awe! The Sony dev stuff collection is beautiful, you have the box for the manuals for Gods sake! Two debug PS1`s, all looks in great condition. With the jewel in the crown the PSP dev kit in the middle.

I hope you`re really proud of your collection because not only is it excellent i know you have spent a lot of money and invested a lot of time into making it what it is.

Well done, It`s one of the greatest

Cough, splutter! Thanks! I'd hesitate to call it one of the greatest or even remotely so. I remember seeing one of the collections on AG that was literally a store of material, software, units and all sorts in such incredible order that it made me cry! It was fan-bloody-tastic! However, I do take your point about it being a bit of a labour of love.

Financially, it has actually not cost me nearly as much as I suspect it could or even should have. I've been very lucky indeed! I'm not one for purchasing uber expensive, showroom condition units, just out of the Sony/MS/Nintendo production lines in their neat boxes and everything still sealed. It saves a lot of time & money being prepared to mess and tinker around with them until they work again, which they all do apart from 1 Tool (laser less).

Time - 1 year exactly. I started when I joined AG. Prior to that I only had retail and a couple of LE units.

I began as an MS Xbox fan, just got my hands on a Debug Kit and had NO idea what to do with it. OE and Deadperfect helped out loads.

In that time, I have found myself increasingly interested in Sony material. Not in a million years did I think I'd get half the stuff I have and it does prove to me that you can collect on a very small budget. When I mean small, I mean REALLY small....

I`m sure you have some of the cleanest units internally out of everyone here, which like you say is down to you having a tinker and very inquisitive nature (you can`t help but strip these machines down). The TOOL disassembly guide is a testament to that fact, which a lot of us are very appreciative of.

I`ve also been lucky enough to get a few items pretty cheaply, right place right time on a pretty much non existant budget.

Problem is this seems to be an all emcompassing obsession for me as it is for you and a lot of others that seems to be insatiable. This thread will get filled up with more pics over the next months i`m sure of it.

Oddly I didn't think to link the PSP to the unit it was sitting on.

Being quite a Nintendo whore I'm not too familiar with the Sony (or MS) stuff but will happily admit that I like the TOOL a lot, simply from the aesthetic value and dual functionality. The PSP unit falls into the later catergory.

What Nintendo stuff do you have? I think I've seen most stuff (partly thanks to the old days here and other sites) but the way you've set them out helps the units shine.

I appreciate the feedback. Will read everything properly later ;-)

As for Nintendo stuff, it is a fairly small collection of dev items as A) they appear harder to find B) they tend to be fairly expensive & C) it's only something I recently got into.

Always liked the Gameboy series and Gamecube, so that might be a clue!

What? No Satellaview Dev? I'm saddened.

Seriously though 16bit Dev stuff is the pinnacle for me, it's all so much more proprietary.

Not yet no sadly, however it's only been 12mths and I really don't know anyone with that sort of material. Never really see so much of it on the usual auction sites. Plus, as the saying goes I have "eyes too big for my belly". I'd love a pile more stuff, but I am really just trying to learn as much about each item before swamping myself with stuff I don't fully understand.

Oh and the £££'s are not free flowing!
