Sorry, I didn't spot this post until tonight. The decals were the very last set that the Sega had in the United Kingdom, they cost me a pretty penny, however they were worth it and one reason I've really taken my time over painting and getting the unit prepared as I didn't want to stick them onto a half baked attempt. As for replacement parts, it really depends on what you are after. First thing to do is get the Initial D 3 users manual (unless you have it already), then work through the manual to find the Sega parts numbers. That done then you can A: start searching on eBay (as lots of parts turn up), B: start posting on Sega related forums (I'll list one in a minute) and C: start going around local Sega fans / spares suppliers online and just hope they've got what you need at a reasonable price. Not based in Canada, but there are a few international members who'd be willing to help I am sure: http://www.sega-naomi.com/forum/index.php
I sat up later than I wanted to last night and rebuilt the cab. The yellow seat really needs to be changed, plus I've not yet finished stripping the paint off the accelerator / brake area. That'll be done over the next few days if I have the time. The only thing not working is the accelerator, so I'll need to check connections again today. I'll also replace the rubber foot pad. It's worn in a couple of places.
Very nice. It looks very clean and new, you did a really good job on this one. The more recent Initial D games are so much fun to watch, but whenever I tried I failed massively  What's next?
Sadly, that version of Initial D runs on an entirely different system. I suspect I'll never see this or the Cycraft versions :-(
I couldn't figure out for the life of me where I'd seen an Initial-D cab before. Then it struck me. Weston-Super-Mare.
I have no idea mate, I've got 9 Naomi units so never looked into emulators for the motherboard. Would be handy if there was as it would seriously reduce some of my clutter!
Even better if you had the actual car, perhaps a US model Trueno with a mountable/dismoutable wheel/pedal setup for the passenger seat. You could even wire up the shifter with switches and a disconnectable harness for the whole kit? Dreamin'.
It might be cheaper to just fly to Japan, rent a car and go for a drive in the mountains! Alternatively, fly to Geneva and drive up to Flaine in the French Alps. I used to live close by and frankly it was a beautiful road. Some of those squiggles are not pistes!
This reminds me of Top Gear, when they were trying to find the greatest driving road in Europe. Series 10/Episode 1, for those who want to see.
