But you can install this over your softmod, I will replace your current softmod.

You can just use the quick upgrade.zip & follow the instructions in the zip.

Also there are no NTSC Bios, the region is stored in the EEPROM.

The issue is that not all games support 480p & it's not as simple as changing a couple bytes, some games will need excessive patching to work 100%.

You could try forcing 480p via NKPatcher Settings & disabling it in the dashboard.
(When forced, the dashboard setting is not used, but if it's still enabled games will use it. Disabling stops this & NKPathcer forces the video change, it fixes some games on v1.6 Xboxs that has scrambled screens)

 

Will try to install, but most likely will not make any difference.

The games I am saying are not the ones known for issues, like Panzer Dragoon neither my Xbox is V1.6 (it's 1.1)

Where can I force the 480p via NKPatcher? Is it a option on the softmod menu?

Sorry for all the questions, I will definitely try your softmodding tool and give some feedback, just trying to figure some stuff that I never used.

 

To force 480p via my softmod you do the following.

Applications > NKPatcher Settings > Video Modes > Force Progressive

im try quickupgrade

1) Transfer the Prep folder to "E:\"
2) So should look like "E:\Prep\default.xbe + folders & other files."
3) Run the default.xbe located in the "E:\Prep\" folder.
after install red light, black screen, after reeboot black screen and yellow light.

 

Really daft question, you were softmodded and not TSOPPED or Chipped?

If you are not running a stock bios the Xbox will crash after the Xlogo screen. ( black screen and when you press eject the Xbox will reset )

If you were softmodded then look bellow.

You're softmodded, so you don't need to worry. We just need to find out a few things.

Did you have sufficient space on E? about 20MB is needed to be safe.

Trying Splinter Cell PAL, keep getting "corrupted save" on the Xbox dashboard. No option to copy to HD, only option to "delete".


Edit. Updated the dashboard or Xbox Live using a 2006-game. Managed to copy the 'Softmod Save' to HD.

Edit 2. PAL SC save still corrupted.

Edit 3. Combing SC PAL save from 'KRAZIE_Splinter_cell_1.1.1_exploit_PAL' with your 'Softmod Save' doesn't work.

Edit 4. Ended up just using 'KRAZIE_Splinter_cell_1.1.1_exploit_PAL' which is a total package. It worked.

Can I update my new ' 'KRAZIE_Splinter_cell_1.1.1_exploit_PAL''-install using your newer files?

Edit. 5. FTP'ed the 'Quick Upgrade' package to the E:/APPS/PREP-folder and succesfully executed an update.

 

I have the same issue as ranho, when prog scan 480p is forced via NKPatcher Settings.

PS. PAL Xbox dashboard doesn't have the option to disable (or enable) prog scan.

PPS. Even with this error, it is still better than gaming without prog scan.

Pal system dont support 480p you need to change your system to NTSC via EnigmahX and then you can enable or disable it via the dashboard settings.
( forced 480p isn't really needed and I'm contemplating removing it, as games can be patched to force 480p and even then there aren't a lot that dont do 480p )

In the test builds on my google drive page, the hole backend had changed an in doing so it works better with 480p, before I had to have all different versions of NKPatcher and copy them to differen locations on the HDD as I dont use BFM bios to disable the protection, and due to NKPatcher not liking loading over itself, it was the only way. But with the new way of things I dont need to worry about that any more

If you want to test the new builds you can, there at the same location just in the Test Builds folder.

 

Using EnigmahX fixed everything. now all games look as they should.

hey rocky i have a v1.4 xbox with a ind bios latest beta bios and when i try uddae, i get to the last step and it just reloads back to dash? instead of loading a menu?ok update i couldnt get that uddae to work follewed the directions to a tee but i had a tsop so i could load your disk before ms dash could do anything lol an i just made it so ind boots right into xbmc. great software man hexins latest tk update for tsop flashing and your program for everything software related best of both worlds

 

Yeah this is a softmod, requires a stock bios to work, hence the reason you couldn't get it to work.

Ran the Xor Xbox Trainer app from your add-on CD. It ended up freezing and after I reset, the Xbox was bricked.

 

That's got nothing to do with the softmod, as it's just an app. An application would not brick your Xbox, and in what sense is it bricked? What happens when you boot the Xbox?

What error are you getting eg....

As it sounds more like a hardware failure issue as the Xbox would boot a disc regardless of the dashboard state, so see if it loads a disc. If it does not then it's not a software issue, it's hardware.

Also what colour is the LED, orange means softmodded, green means unmodded.

 

it indeed sounds imposible for a trainer to brick a box. some details might help us unbrick the black brick of awesomeness
