While i hope this turns out to be a great game in the 2D Sonic tradition... i've pretty much lost faith that Sega can make a "great" Sonic game anymore... but who knows...
Good Music + Sonic Rush. NO GO! I always turned the speaker off I couldn't stand it. Sonic Adventure 2 was a turd, but let's discuss this some other time.
You can for your phone  It would have been if it never had that God awful shitty rap crap in it. That music really ruined the game for me in parts. It's also one of the very few times I acutally turned down the volume while playing a game. Yakumo
I actually hated SA2, I felt that the game really failed in a lot of aspects, the Sonic and Shadow levels were really good, I enjoyed them and played them to death, but the Tails/Robotnik & Knuckles/Rouge levels were awful, the Tails/Robotnik levels were too slow for a sonic game and also, robotnik should be simply a boss in the game! He's not supposed to be a playable character! The Knuckles/Rouge levels were awful because they were completly random, really hard and pointless, also trying to get the pieces of the emerald with rap music playing in the background isn't the best combination possible.
I agree with Feder on almost anything.Couldn't the game be just Sonic and Shadow in ONE campaign?I mean you know in one stage you'd play with Sonic and in the other with Shadow. Knuckles/Rouge gameplay was pathetic, its a reason alone NOT to play the game again. And btw what the hell does Jet Set Radio,a masterpiece, have to do with Sonic Rush?Jet Set Radio was amazing over and out.
Goddamn, nothing was worse than trying to find that last piece of emerald at Pumpkin Hill with the worst song in history constantly looping in the background (and am I the only who thought the ghosts in that level looked freaky as hell with those creepy smiles?), but the most aggravating of the emerald levels were Bat-Hooker's timed one and Mad Space, which is one of the worst Sonic levels in history. I didn't mind the emerald hunts in SA1, because the levels were much smaller and it was easier to actually find the emerald pieces. Everyone complains about the Tails/Robotnik levels, but I always found them pretty fun (even though E-102's stages from SA1 were more condensed and the pace was better) and used to play the Prison Lane stage all the time because it had awesome music. Of course, some of them (Eternal Engine and Cannon's Core!) were unbelievably frustrating. However, the best part was obviously the Sonic stages: City Escape, Metal Harbor and Final Rush are still by far the best stages in a 3D Sonic game. The control in the Sonic stages was also pretty much spot on, much better than any of the 3D Sonics that followed. Shadow's stages were fun too, but who wants to play as Shadow? He's the K' of Sonic characters. Unfortunately, the biggest flaw in the game was that there was only a handful of Sonic stages, and they were relatively short.
Teaser trailer. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/act...sid=6249445&tag=topslot;thumb;1&mode=previews Doesn't anyone else think it looks really slow compared to older 2D Sonic games?
it did look slower but maybe that's just at a certain part. I dunno. What i do know is that it looks like someone at sega finally is like "...maybe we should listen to the older fans?" they've gone on record before saying they know what the older fans want, but won't make it because their market (kids) won't buy it.
So it's a downloadable title and they are calling it sonic 4 episode one..i get the feeling this will be milked dry. Plus episode one gives me the bad starwars trilogy (1-3) taste in my mouth
Btw, anyone notice that some of the running sprites they use in the teaser aren't the final sprites? Sonic 1's run looked stunted, and Sonic 2s is a beta sprite I think..
Hah. Well these games were basically my childhood, and I looked at the beta info through interest. Maybe they did it in reference to the beta name of Needlemouse.
Finger's crossed. EDIT: Sonic needs to spin his legs faster, like Sonic 3 or something. He looks a bit slow.
