out of curiosity why limit of 250 per dir? shouldnt fat32 support more or is it memory limitation?

 

Most likely, memory restriction. You only got 64k of available RAM to store all dynamic data (which include file entry table but not only) and I don't think there is extra RAM on everdrive.

I'm still trying to discover why the Codemasters mapper of Master System games are not supported by the Everdrive MD, 'cause Master Everdrive and Everdrive GG support that.
I don't know if Codemasters only used a different mapper or if they, also, used different video modes that MD's VDP does not support. I don't know...
But I would like to be able to play the Codemasters SMS games using the Everdrive MD, 'cause they are among the best ones.

That reset option, to act like the Super Everdrive's reset, would be great too. I think that the ideal is to let the Hard Reset option on and this "new" reset on too...
So I would not have problems with games like Super Hang-On and will not have to power off/power on my MD to reach the Everdrive MD menu.
When testing roms and stuff, I think that too many fast "power off/power on"s could somehow damage the console capacitors... But I'm not sure, maybe I'm saying sh*t.

Anyway, thank you so much for your amazing job and efforts.

codemasters mapper not implemented because ED MD cpld chip already used on 100%, need some optimisation of current design for fit some new functions in CPLD

SDHC it is a more than 2GB cards

 

is it safe to downgrade to v23 OS to recover some saves and then go back up to v24? I'm guessing so but want to make sure

 

os downgrade is safe.
not safe to use old os with new firmware (if firmware was made after os)

 

I upgraded the OS to the new os24. Then I did a full format on the card to fat32 on the computer, but there is no option to format on the everdrive anymore.
I reloaded my roms on the card but only a few in each folder show.

 

i had a similar problem

after os upgrade, the osd didn't show all the directories
so i did format the sd and re loaded all the romz
now the tree is full accessible.

After os upgrade,

- when selecting "select game" the first time , I get a "sel error: 50" and goes back to main menu.
The second time I try, I do not get the error anymore (was working with the previous version of the os).

- Multi region option does not seem to be working anymore (tried Aladdin US & Lankstalker US on a PAL megadrive)

- OS24 / FW 12 / SDCARD 2GB formatted FAT32/16KB
