Awfully sorry, was my mistake, I put it away so fast and I got into and the head was v24, no, my everdrive came with the v23 and it works great with master system and all the games I have able to prove. Excuse the confusion Great work KRIKzz!!
All the OS above V23 have been removed because they had some bugs... If you search on this thread you can find some beta/rc os you can try.
Tested and I must say this will probably bug free because: FAT32 even on small cards (with block below 16 kb) works SMS games works as expected (I tested about 10 games) SMD games that previously didn't work now works fine (even unlicensed games or fixed) there are no problems with initializing card first time I didn't test sram backup/writing (I have very small ammount of games that uses SRAM)
If you can get faster flashing by formatting to FAT 32 I'll do it since I have a PC backup anyway but not everyone has a PC backup. Those good old pirate multicarts now work on FAT32 you say? Well I'm definitely going to upgrading then as only got flicky working on one of those and the other games freeze. Edit: I'm speaking rubbish because I can't see the latest version at all there. Can anyone point me to the real folder for these Beta OS versions as I would like to try and test these bugs out for myself.
TEOL, those were FAT bugs. Changing from FAT16 to FAT32 does not solve compatibility problems with games but newest firmare might solve some problems after all. Right Krikzz stated that he fixed some bugs. Previously I was have problems only with FAT16/32 and blocks below 16 kb. Krikzz posted recent 28RC1 here in this thread
Seen it. Now to transfer and give a little playing. So former Everdrive folder must be renamed to EDMD folder and SAVES must have their own folder now? Ok, I'll get to doing some renames. Now we got a super duper new FAT 32 system on board any plans on No Intro .md and .smd file support as some of them don't like being converted to .bin I found and a lot of them are better dumps compared to the GoodSets as well? If this support does get added it may improve the product a lot mainly due to having more playable dumps to try out.
I think bin will be the only supported format. After all Krikzz has only 64kb for OS and 8 kb for firmware. He can't anything people wishes unless he will create new design with bigger flash for this purpurose. Everdrive will create required folder upon first use of freshly formatted card. No-Intro in 99% have the same dumps as no-intro. Personally since everything works for me I'm waiting for the same update for SNES flash cart.
sega roms can be only in bin or in smd format, all other format it is .bin, even most of .smd roms it is bin inside, but by some misterious reason they called as smd. if smd-to-bin can't convert some rom is mean that those rom already in bin format
Probably because smd is better extension than bin (bin could be anything). Even GoodGen uses gen extension rather than bin.
What is a .md out of .smd and .bin then? Any ideas? It will give us a few more alternative roms to try out.
the file extension really doesn't matter all that matters is how the file itself is, it might have mattered a long time back if an emu made an assumption based on the extension, but ED does not
I've got a little problem. I received my Everdrive MD yesterday with os 2.3 pre installed on it. Then I inserted my SD card, formatted it, put the os2.8 file on it, inserted it in the Everdrive, updated the OS. Everything works normal except there is no format sd anymore. Overall I'm incredibly satisfied with the ED. Great work Krikzz!
This is because its no longer necessary with newer OS's. The older OS's required it to be formatted a specific way, newer ones are much less strict.
