new MD OS v24. SDHC, FAT32

just sd format by cart not need anymore. i tested with 8GB cards

 

I upgraded Properly to the latest OS release but I still think the file system has issues. Supposedly under v25 each folder should recognize 250 files, I use Goodgen roms and I put even less roms in each folder than the maximum allowed and yet when I go into the folders it still appears not all files are displayed. I know this because it ends with titles that when I look under windows are followed by more than appear in the Everdrive menu. ALSO even more strange? A couple of the rom files appear as FOLDERS and of course when I attempt to "go into them" nothing is there or it just crashes, weird. I have tried several times re-formatting, copying over the roms AGAIN, re-doing the file structure, just cannot seem to get it running perfect. I love it no question but there always seems to be some error here or there. I am getting tired of fiddling with it, if I put roms in folders I just want them to show up properly and run.

 

v26 available. fixed fat bug. now all should be fine

I had the same error with FAT32. Time to check v26

v26 also broken some SMD detection:

Lion King 3

but again v27 solves this problems also

 

One weird thing in v26, sometimes when I try to load a rom, I press SELECT and it goes back to root folder instead (where my list of folders are) Why is that?

Anyway, updated to v27 now.

 

Hmmmm. V27 , sometimes when loading ROM I get: copy sram to sd...
prog error 100

How can I fix this?

 

with v26 I've received similiar problem - error 109

but in v27 everything is fine. Even unlicensed games works.

Ok, now I know the real problem - FAT with blocks below 16 kb. Everytime I use FAT16 or FAT32 I have the same problems. Either I have error 109 or SMD games are detected as SMS. I'm almost sure it's FAT problem.

 

Using the new OS 27 I too get the Sel 50 error when pressing Select Game in the menus. Everytime I can just press A and try again and it enters the directories just fine.

The fan translated King Colossus does not work any more. I only get a red screen?

I formatted the SD card to FAT32 using windows XP if it makes any difference...

 

Have you tried format with FAT32 and 16kb or 32kb blocks?

 

No I haven't. I didn't see those options in XP. I'll try formatting using Linux next.

 

XP should have cluster size option
