North Korea just blew a South Korean destroyer in half...not good news.

Refrain from flying in the area.

Usually not much happens, this happened many times before even not too long ago: '99 '02
They provocate each other around that sea border and sometimes these things happen.
Let's hope like the last few times nothing happens, there is too much at stake for both party's

I know people died in the previous clashes, but were ships sunk?

Hate to say it but I'm glad its a S. Korean ship that was sunk, I'd imagine N. Korea would react a lot worse to 50 sailors missing at sea.

From what I read they're not even sure of the cause of the explosion, so it's a bit early to be saying the North did it and that's that.

It's not confirmed to "have been sunk" by anything. It just sank, and might have been in some type of military conflict.

Could you have an even more overreacting title? C'mon.

Ships don't blow up on their own.

Ships will spring a leak or something if they hit a rock or whatever. They don't just explode. Perhaps they hit a mine, but I'm wary if this just happened by no means of the North. But you never know, it could be a faulty missile just going off.

That's what I was thinking. The North has been know to mine areas.

Maybe the ship had too much to drink.

I'll try to find a source, but I had heard yesterday that the ship was thought to have sunk due to faulty munitions on board that caused an explosion and abandonment of the ship.

But the happen more often than you think. It wasn't that long ago that Japan sunk a North Korean ship and posted it on the 5 o'clock news. Russians fire at Japan's fishing vessels regularly. No war. Seriously, the title is alarmist at least.

Japan & Russia have not signed a treaty from WWII yet either.
