Arcade version of snes that allowed you to try out snes games for a period of time. It has a small amount of games on it compared to playchoice.

any thread/site detailing the mode of operation? I m curious to see where the ISA slot fitted in (a standard PC mobo?), and what type of memory modules those are (the whole board looks like a consumer computer motherboard with custom parts)

What do you mean "mode of operation?"

It's an arcade board. The "memory chips" are the games.

Got a bit of an odd one today. It's the size of a 12inch record cover and contains 3 sample discs. I've never seen this set before so I wonder if it's rare or not? Most demo discs have NOT FOR SALE on them but these also have SAMPLE written on them.

Yes. But you might as well just play the SNES ones since they are essentially the same, and SNES won't bug you with credits etc.

Seriously?! It's not really rare but still it's a nice set.

Sorry , I m not familiar with Arcade hardware at all beyond the basics. Never had the chance to open and tinker with any.

The ISA-like interface of the board, does that connect anywhere?

I am aware that the modules are the ROMS, I was just curious as to the nature of them , and the pin numbers of the modules.

The connector that you are talking about is actually the JAMMA interface. It connects to the arcade machine through a harness, which transfers power, input, video and sound between the board and the rest of the machine.

Im suprsied that no one has been able to fully emulate the snes arcade. Zsnes has options for it, but oddly doesn't emulate it at all.

I don't see why one would bother. There are much more important arcade platforms that need the attention of those few who know their stuff.
