Sound has some minor issues though. Also performance is poor but is not evident unless you play a game using a co-processor chip like Super FX or SA-1. But it's not bad for a first beta release. Can't wait to see improvements.
damn i'd love to get one of those dongles but i don't want to find me toasted when GT5 will be released.... :/
I think by then you can expect them to have found a way to patch games so they don't require any form of update similar to how they do it with the Xbox 360
I think that anyone interested on this should get a second-hand PS3, just to use with it. Knowing how the doors were opened, Sony will know if you are using it by just having your PS3 connected. To be honest i'm more interested on GT5 right now. And how it will probably destroy my social life.
The question is, does Sony actually care enough? If they can block you from running stuff, why bother losing money by banning the person? Sure, no more homebrew, but Id wager they make more money through sales on PSN than if they banned a console.
Piracy on the PS1 was a contributing factor to its success. Makes you wonder if there's a big wig sitting in the Sony offices toying with the idea of letting all of this carry on unnoticed. Probably not. Lol.
Hm ... I find suspicious that the PS3 only got hacked after Sony started to sell units with profit...
According to the image, that is the original PSJailbreak, so in theory it is upgradeable I don't know which version you used, but in the one I use (the original release) I tried Star Fox and it ran at fullspeed
I tried Star Fox 2 which runs the SFX at 21mhz. So it may be that games that run at 10.5mhz are fine. Where are these other builds of SNES9X for PS3 at?
PSX-scene maybe? Been trying to find the exact place myself to check for updates hah, I forgot where I got them. edit : here maybe -RM-
Yeah, none of the sites I visit talked about the updates, which is sad because squarepusher2 has really improved the emulator. I just wish that someone implements a shortcut (like L2+R2) to return to the rom select screen. In other news, the nullDC port seems to be advancing at an amazing speed. Some games are now running (though at 7 fps) and drk||Raziel hasn't even applied speed optimization patches yet.
Considering some of the sites listed in this thread (and others) have similar stuff, its not the biggest deal in the world anyway
