Wow... I guess the "big three" have dropped in value insanely then... because at one point I was planning out having to spend $800+ on Eyeful, Heim Waltz, and Derisoba. :eek:h:

Then the bullshit with the job happened...

Wheelaa was lucky on that one. Most people who collect that stuff are true elitist arse holes who won't buy something unless it's 100% perfect which would also include a slight kink in the wrapping. The one Wheela bid on has a crack in the case which would have put many people off. For quite a long time that auction was really cheap so I was keeping my eye on it then suddenly it soared up (guess who :p) so I placed another high bid, had to take care of the baby, came back and sold to Wheelaa it was. Very good deal there since the others on Yahoo are going for 70000 yen !

There are two rules of collecting, rule 1 - don't pay stupid money for stuff, rule 2 - don't pay stupid money for stuff. The vast majority of stuff has fallen dramactically in value, most of it *will* turn up again in some point in the future (unless it's really rare or a prototype). Also don't believe people that say only x copies of a game were published unless that person happens to work at the company that made the game and they happen to work in the shipping department...

I could find the three 'rare' Saturn games in good condition for less then $500 and probably even less if I really looked hard.

I would hope so. Pretty sure they all go for 50,000 or less in Akihabara, and are there quite regularly.

I do remember when they were all 180,000 or so at Trader 2.

Aye, it certainly isn't flawless sealed. Crack on the front, and what looks like residue, and the seller mentioned marks on the back of the wrap. But beggars can't be choosers, I've never seen another sealed Eyeful so had to get it (even though I'm generally one of those true elitist arse holes who won't buy something unless it's 100% perfect). Tbh I suprised it went so low even with the flaws. Oh well, good for me.

@JP..there's a delisoba of Yahoo at the mo 50,000 yen. (There's been 3-4 the last month or two..all have sold for 50-60k only)

Yes, I totally agree. In fact this has been my personal game buying philosphy for several years now. I set a max, I place it in the waning seconds and hope for the best. If I lose, it's OK. I will not pay over my max.

Even a game like TAROMARU will pop up on eBay again. Patience and being at the right place at the right time is key...

I think the Baroque Report CD Data File is quite rare.

    Yep, good that. (^_^)

I think in the Baroque Report Gold, it says it was a present limited to 100 copies (will have to go check). There are two different ones too.

Ah I didn't know there were 2. Are both Baroque Report CD Data File? Or what's the difference?

And is Baroque Report Gold a separate disc or just a file on one of the Report CD Data Files? (As you can probably tell I haven't bothered checking out the BR CD DF I own lol)

I only know that the jacket/sleeve is different but not by very much though. It has got the same pictures and writing and some a little different but it is placed differently and there is no writing inside. I checked at the Satakore one and it is different but CD is the same (has got same product code). I remember reading though that sometimes ESP made different covers for the games so maybe it does not mean very much?

The Baroque Report Gold was a present too but it is not a game, I think they are extra items for the normal Baroque Report set. They are like fold out leaflets with lots and lots of info about the game and all the goods and presents, quite rare I think.

    Edit: Spelling error. (^_^)

Yeah... it's not so common. I own one, and have never once played the game. My "cover" is very boring... it's a white cardboard slip, actually ,w /no pictures.

Also, Devil Summoner Extra Dungeons. Fetched 20,000 yen back in it's day. Nowhere near that now. Again, another series I've never touched.

I got some pictures now, my cover is very boring too. (^_^)

It is different from what I could remember, in that there is no screenshot at all and a little bit more text. I think it has got the correct release date but there is no writing inside. The paper for the other one has a different date on it. I don't know at all if this is the present one or they both was but in the Baroque Report Gold it says it was limited to 100 copies. Just above that bit it says there was an event called the Baroque Only Event and maybe it was part of that but I don't know for sure.

The other picture is of the Baroque Report Gold that was a present too but I don't know how may there are in total, I only have 3. You could see the normal ones at the official site up until recently but I think they have got replaced with the new game for PS2 because I can't find them anymore.

Ah very interesting, cheers for the piccies.

So to sum up (for my benefit if anything as I'm getting confused)

    There are 2 versions!

    One can be found here
    http://www.satakore.com/sega-saturn-demo,,610-6848,,Baroque-Report-CD-Data-File-JPN.html
This has a screenshot, writing on the inside (and less on the outside), and has the date 14/5/98 (on the slip).

Then there is the version in your piccies Juste, which has more exterior writing, no screenshot, and has the date 21/5/98 (so a week later).

Then there are the 'Gold' fold out leaflets etc which refer to 100 copies.

(From now on this guess work on my part)

Based on the times I've seen either of these for sale I'd say 1 above is more common. Perhaps 2 above (ie your copy Pete) is a later version, given out along with the gold leaflets, and perhaps this one only is limited to 100? Perhaps 1 above is a more general 'press' item, whereas 2 above comes from the Baroque Event you mention.

Interesting nonetheless! (I think the one I have is number 1 above but I'll check tonight)

(Edit..and checked some old piccies..I have the screenshot version..which I believe to be the more common of the 2 :( )

Really interesting. Thanks Juste for the picture.
For 3-4 copies I got of Baroque Report Cd Data file, it seems I always got the version found at satakore.
So there is another demo to track down :)

Juste, could you give me some details about your version ? Does the cd inside is identical to the other version ? (same serial number: 610-6848 ?)

Cool stuff. Mine was the same cardboard slip, but I didn't have the letter. In fact, I think I sold mine at some point, but can't remember. Then again, I lose shit all the time. Can't find 3 games I bought last week. :/
