The Japanese just can't grasp the idea of beans not being sweet. I saw a Japanese person at a BBQ practically throw up after trying amercan style beans and bacon.
Biohazard 2 in its proposed Saturn form was a completely different game to the more commonly-known "1.5" version for the PlayStation, which was more like a side-story or spin-off from its Sony counterpart than a straight port. According to producer Hideki Kamiya, the Saturn edition would have featured a new playable character in the same time frame as Leon and Elza (or Claire, as she later became) that was supposedly either a photographer or journalist. Considering how many leftover elements from this prototype ended up being recycled in future games, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the source for a similar playable figure in the Outbreak series. Also, much earlier in this thread I noticed the mention of Rattlesnake Red - was this really in development for the Saturn? I've only ever seen images from the PlayStation build, though I guess it's possible Saturn code may exist as it was announced for the platform. Finally, there are various stories about whether Sonic The Fighters was ever completed on the Saturn or not. A release date of 5th May 1998 briefly appeared on the Sega of Japan website, and I've heard in the past that Fighters Megamix was created as a preview of sorts for not only Virtua Fighter 3 but also this other highly anticipated conversion, hence the inclusion of AM2's original creations from the original coin-op. Nobody really knows if this one was finished or not, although there's no denying that Japanese cover art was indeed produced. With the game disappearing so close to its planned street date, it's highly likely that at least something may one day leak - even if SOJ has tighter levels of security than other divisions within the company. Then again, that never stopped Propeller Arena from being leaked, so who really knows what may happen?
Gaijin punch,do you remember how far your Chelnov proto goes (level 2,3,4,etc..)? I got a modded saturn so i can now play my copy, and i'm just wondering if we got the exact same prototype game. By the way, i'm willing to sell it if the price is right
This one I have a hard time swallowing. VF has always had it's own "world" or sorts in terms of engine. The fact that the Fighters Megamix had anything at all to do w/ VF3 (other than bastardization of the characters) I would seriously doubt. That was leaked by a UK magazine reviewer, no? Slightly different than coming out of a dev office. I will play it and see but you will have to wait. My TV just blew out yesterday.
Small correction; Well actually the game was sold by an ex-sega employe of Sega of America. And he sold it to anyone who was willing to rip it.
What about Motteke Tamago, Tryrush Deppy and the Rockman X4 Limited Box? I saw a sealed copy of TD on yahoo a few months ago, going for 5'000 together with 9 other sealed (cheap) games, but I wasn't able to spot another copy since then, so thats not the normal price, is it?
That could be it. My point was that it didn't come out of the Japanese offices (which I took as being insinuated above). Motteke Tamago I don't think is that rare. Tryrush pops up from time to time, although I've not looked for quite some time. The Rockman 4 box is definitely rare. Yakumo picked one up on the cheap some months ago... prick bastard.
Yep, got one for next to nothing about 1 year ago. The thing is that I never knew it was rare until Gaijin Punch told me ! Now it lives in the cupboard with the rest of the bulks boxed games. Here's a shot of it. Yakumo
Yep, Rockman X4 Special Limited Pack is rare. If you want to see what is included: http://www.satakore.com/sega-saturn-game,,T-1222G,,Rockman-X4-Special-Limited-Pack-JPN.html
w00t! Hmmm... how about Langrisser Tribute? And is Stellar Assault SS actually rare? I definitely need to figure out what Saturn rarities (sans the obvious Eyeful Home and Heim Waltz) I don't have... definitely going to set out looking for that musical school game + keyboard now though...
common < uncommon < langrisser tribute < stellar assault ss < rare < rarest also cheap < langrisser tribute < stellar assault ss < very expensive
Heh, I dunno, Langrisser Tribute and Stellar Assault are both $100+ last I saw. I don't remember how much I paid for 'em. Hmmm... guess I'll hit up Satakore at some point and just make a little list. I can't imagine I'm missing too much stuff though. Unless its some bizarre JRPG or rhythm game.
I didn't know! Good thing i bought it in 1997 when it came out for 6800 Yens, but well worth it..for me the BEST Rockman X episode ever!
Both Stellar Assault & Langrisser Tribute have pretty low production runs. Tribute is mere reprints of games avaialble on the system though, so that's obviously going to hurt the demand. Stellar Assault SS flat out sucks I heard, which isn't going to do wonders for it. I'd say Madroms take on the situation is right. Here's one that's rare: Panzer Dragoon I & II Double Pack Unfortunately the contents are merely a standard PD & PD Zwei. No extra booklet or anything.
Heh, sorry. ^_- Anyways, I don't suppose any of you gents would be willing to help me find a Saturn Musical School + keyboard. :icon_bigg As acquiring that is my new Saturn goal for the time being. Though FYI, Stellar Assault SS isn't such a bad game. Its actually a fairly competent space shooter and looks really good for a 3D Saturn game.
I actually have the PDI&II box, although not in as good of condition as yours. I wanted the Rockman X4 one for a while, but I've since grown out of that. Kind of burned out on Rockman. Never seen the keyboard. But, I don't keep up w/ music games at all.
