Cheers mate. I knew I'd seen something about it before and as soon as you posted I remembered.

Great site btw. I haven't been there since you kindly got me that DD, and I swear there's loads more stuff for me to ogle at?? Or am I dreaming? Whatever I've a late night ahead:)

I'd kill for a biohazard 2 for the saturn.

Hehe... I don't think BH2 for the Saturn go anywhere out of the design phase. There were never any pictures for it that I know of, and the only thing official I ever saw was mention of it in Saturn Magazine. Never really my series though, so I never went after such things.

Enjoy DD! I hope it's in your safe.

I have a D set I got from acclaim promo department, it's a huge box, and has a pillow to cover your eyes with? a handkerchief to wipe away your fear sweat, and some other fear related items. Box is about two foot long.

I guess Mizubaku Adventure is considered up there now.

Winning Post is stupid rare in the states it seems, but I have no clue exactly how rare.

How rare is Game Basic? As I understand it rarity online != rarity in Japanese shops. Hence why I'm not even bothering to mention Blast Wind. :110:

Game Basic isn't that rare, you can pick it up for about 6000 yen if you look hard enough. Although to use it, you really need the Keyboard and Floppy Drive.

The Music Keyboard also doesn't seem that rare as I've seen several pop up for sale in various shops in Osaka and Tokyo, in fact there is a shop down the road that has it for 8000 Yen.

I only saw 3-4 Saturn Music School+keyboard on ebay+YJ during the last 3 years. For sure, you can always find one in Japan if you look hard enough. The rarity scale on satakore is not only for japanese people who can find the games more easily than western people. This an average scale for everyone.
In the same time, i saw much more Yuno limited edition on ebay+YJ.

For Mizubaku Adventure, i will update the scale from 3 to 4, but the game is just a little uncommon.

And for Game Basic, you can find it not so easily online on eBay and it pops up on YJ maybe 3-6 times a year. You don't really need the floppy disc drive if you connect your saturn to the PC.

I'd say Mizubaku Adventure is more rare than Taromaru/Crows/Stellar Assault SS though...

    Game Basic you could find in 20 minutes coming off the train in Akihabara even if you didn't know what shop to go into. Music School, one shop I know has had the same version sitting on a shelf for the last 9 months... ^_^;

Crows, I'm 95% certain I got and I think I paid all of £4 for it. It's a fairly average game at best, not sure why it seems to have been deemed rare.

Taromaru is expensive but I counted all the copies I could find last week and in a total of 12 shops I saw it about 11 times, including 2 new copies...

It is indeed average at best. It has been deemed rare b/c it is hard to find. It & Mizubaku Daibouken seem to pop up on YJ the least, although Mizubaku has recently seen an influx. Coincidence?

So if Taromaru, Crows, Mizubaku, and Stellar Assault SS aren't "rare", then... what officially released games (note: not Derisoba Deluxe, Heim Waltz, or Eyeful Home) are?

There was a Waltz on yahoo two weeks ago and as for Taromaru, you can find that on Yahoo auctions almost every week. It's not at all rare just bloody expenssive. Crows is quite hard to find and quite crap as well.

Finding a game in one or a few shops doesn't make it common. It is the same if I said I have one in the room next door so it is not rare at all.
Same if you say you could find a game in about 10 shops in the same area. If you can't find it elsewhere around the world, this game will be marked as rare.

The rarity scale at satakore has been made just to give an idea and it is some sort of average scale (also it is for complete/mint copy), as rarity is somewhat a point of vue and differs from people and where they live.

I am agree with dj898, Dragon's Dream could be considered as rare, not the rarest, just rare. Despite you was able to find some on YJ 2 years ago (and despite I own 2 of them). Same for pictflash dondon.

If you are looking for rare games, what abour Noël 3 and Kuro no Danshou ~The Literary Fragment~, both normal edition. They are cheap when you find it but you will not find them easily, because they have been released at the same price as the limited edition so people prefered to buy a more complete/beautiful version than the standard edition.

Trying to find say a tin of baked beans in Japan, is hard but not impossible, however this does not automatically make a tin of baked beans rare just because I can't find it easily in Japan.

Rarity of things does change, Game Basic a few years ago was very hard to find in shops in Japan (and there were more shops selling Saturn games back them), now you can find it easily. Ditto with Taromaru, Waltz and a number of other rare games, once the price goes up then the games come out faster then a collectors wallet if he sees a mint Hitachi Car-Navi Saturn selling for Y1000. Game Basic is uncommon but no long rare, Taromaru is also uncommon (and expensive) but no longer rare.

I would agree with that, certain games although not technically rare are very hard to find and that would now put them in the Rare catergory. I'm still trying to find the ltd edition versions of a number of the Seta Super Real Mahjong games and am having no luck. :(

The D&D Boxset isn't the easiest to find. Been after a new copy for ages. One seller has one up on Yahoo..he started it at 30,000 yen, it didn't sell, so has been raising the price with most relistings. Now 49,800 yen starting price. I mean WTF?

With a bazillion people in one area, you can find just about anything if you look hard enough.

I can't remember the last trip I took to Akihabara and didn't see one. I don't think it's ever been that hard to find as long as you look in the right place.

But yeah, I agree on the price thing. If Taroumaru were only selling for 10,000 yen I'm sure you'd see far fewer for sale.
