Think laseractive, but much older. It was the first commercial surround sound unit, and had the ability to connect to a SC-3000 computer.
Anyone know of any pics of this thing? It's mentioned on the back of a lot of SG1000 games, but I've never been able to find any solid details on it.
There's a difference between rare and unavailable, IMHO. Using just unit counts isn't always a good measure of how rare a system is. The Dreamcast Pearl Pink and Pearl Blue released the same amount of units, but you can get a Pearl Blue pretty quickly whereas you'd have to wait a while on the Pearl Pink. There are twice as many Pure White XBOX consoles as Panzer Dragoon consoles, but I'd say you see the Pure White up for sale about 10x as often. You also have new vs. used... Some consoles seem to have a lot of new units floating around like the Saturn or Neo Geo CD whereas you only have the chance to purchase new versions of other consoles must less frequently. For a while there I'm pretty sure the majority of Pippins for sale were new rather than used.
Speaking of units produced, how about the Playstation debug consoles ? Shouldnt be too many of those out there.
a few you guys missed Japanese Vectrex. Japanese Atari system. Intellivision system sold by door to door world book encylopdeia sellers. Atari system sold by 10 cds for a penny company when they sold games. There are only 1 or 2 of the Intellivisions known.
There's a Japanese release of the Vectrex? Any pictures of the packaging, differences, whatever? I'd love to see that. The Atari system is the 2800, right, with the different type of joysticks? Those are awesome. I've seen the system for sale on Mexican auction sites, too.
Yeah it is made by bandai and you can see the differences on the unit itself in this auction - http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d62179657 (this one is rubbish and thus does not relate to how expensive they usually are) If you want to see more pics just google or image google this - 光速船 This is a good site so you can see the Japanese and foreign units side by side - http://vectrex.takuranke.com/vectrex_info.html then click on the links for more detailed pics. As for it being rare, well perhaps in the west. I have seen them quite often in Japan, however they are VERY expensive indeed. It is also rather like the Pippin, easy to get a unit, hard to find any games. Edit - where is the vectrex icon!
Well if you go by region, not production, it's a whole new game. I mean then there's HK versions of sony stuff, aussie items. Seen the bandai vectrex, just a label on it. Big whoop for $1000 I would rather buy other items.
The Sonic Adventure DC had only 200 units manufactured Sonic Saturn (not really sure how many of these were made, but rare none the less) Can the HI Saturn Navi really be classed as rare? Is 2000 units still rare?
Kevin, what is the "dreamcast" upgrade for Saturn you were refering to? is it the 3D accelerator that would make the saturn run Virtua Fighter 3 identicaly to the Arcade version?
Well the most rarest system that was ever sold would have to be a home made project that is able to emulate most game systems and could run computer games. Then it could be something that was a prototype and then dumped for another model and was never used again like for example the Gameboy 3d or the other game machine before pong that has all those controlls and butons. Also you could consider the first calculator or computer that was put together kinda like a apple but was never seen the light of day besides in the eyes of The Zar or Garry the late night gaurd. The rarest thing for me would be the first real computer game code along with the computer hardware. then you have the first real mouse/light gun/ Graphical object that did or did not phase out. Also wouldn't we just have to ask the so called father of videogames about this in his home state or toy company I am sure he could give some answers.
WOW... thanks, Warakia. Those links are great. Also, I didn't know there was a Soccer game for the Vectrex. Yay!
Could you at least read the thread before posting? That means no prototypes, and no home brew crap. Nothing that wasn't available to the public for sale. And I doubt the thread starter was looking for computers or calculators either, but he's gone now and we can't ask. I really hate to pick apart a new member, as I’m trying to get my rep back up, but your brash behavior and audacious attitude is getting on, for the most part, everyone's nerves. Also, your refusal to read other people's posts and to accept that you are wrong is disrespectful to the forum.
Kinda. Think of it as a 32x for the Saturn, but since the 32x failed miserably Sega didn't go forth on making it a reality I believe.
Okay OKay I got it. What about the SNES2 prototype model and joint feature to the Snes including the stand alone version. There has to be like three diffrent designs of it floating around somewhere and the bigger question is will it play PLayStation games ?
Do you read anything that's posted here? Just in case you missed that: NO PROTOTYPES. Spot on (by the way, kudos for putting it in such a polite manner), it's driving me mad and he's only been here five minutes.
I noticed ;-) I can't help but laugh every time he is proven wrong, yet still continues the push the same ideas as fact!
We've got 500 Maziora DCs out there? Why the hell do people pay then a thousand dollars for a Maziora Dreamcast? The FF GameCube is limited to 150 pieces and costs less if you find it (afaik). Or does everybody just wanna know what color the Maziora has, green or blue? ;-)
