It looks like you will be able to. The neogeox.com site pictures it on its own so I guess it would be available to buy alone. Plus it has two controller port on the front of the dock so you would need a second controller for 2 player action!

There are a couple of things that stand out about your avatar HeXiGON, care to link to the full image?

Well it seems SNK still haven't learned any lessons about the price of their systems. That might be a good sign, regardless of price the Neo Geo was an amazing system even to this day. Although, I forsee massive failure for this system, what's to stop people from hacking the firmware and using SNK's own built in emulator to inject their own ROMs? Once this thing is broken, which it will be, people will either flood to it because it's a great emulation device, or SNK will stop updating the system because people aren't buying new games. Who knows? It seems really hit or miss. Only thing I'm concerned about is how many buyers will remain loyal to SNK since their entire library is already widely available online.

It definately looks 16:9 to me, I also remember when this was being mooted at $500 RRP.

Considering the handheld is widescreen I just wonder what their plans are for it? Is it simply going to be a portal for existing MVS/AES titles or are SNK going to do something new? I'd imagine the latter won't happen otherwise they'd make a big song and dance about it on the official site and use it as a selling point.

I'll probably buy one if the UK distribution isn't cheap and has BLAZE INC all over it.

I'm interested but I'd like to play one before buying one. If it feels to cheap then I'll have to pass.

It's too expensive but if they release new games or scene games for the card slot I will buy it

I hope they are going to open the shop part and allow pre-orders although that seems unlikely at this stage. Its probably down for re-design or maybe to include more information on the 'Strictly Limited supply' aspect of the machines production, as that wasn't really clear on the original site.

Either of those would be my guess although of course the site could have just gone on the fritz!

Actually I just linked to the site through Blaze Europes website and got through to a totally different webpage

It seems to be still in development and features the dreaded £500 price tag! The page is clearly under construction and even uses an Apple cinema display blurb for the Neogeo X product description.

I think this is the store being set-up and someone made a boo boo leaving it accessible

I got some screen grabs off the pages if anyone cannot see them

Some 3D packaging images are available too

    *EDIT*

The site is obviously still under construction but you can register with the site and add items to your basket (although they are out of stock unsurprisingly) and £500 is the listed price at the moment.

Too excited about all this! I am such a nerd!

As I said the site is under construction! The price is NOT a final price. All the items on the site have a £500 price tag, they all have the same product code and also all have the blurb from an Apple monitor to describe them.

I only mentioned the £500 because when the machine was first revealed a £500 price tag was mentioned and everyone flipped out.

The site which was mostly recently active suggested: $200 for the 'gold' system and $129.00 for the handheld alone. So much more realistic than £500!

Indeed! I was going to say. That kind of price is nothing but insane, even if it included the entire game library. I think the main thing is, how much are the games? Will they be limited region to region? And how frequently are they going to come out? I really have no interest in revisiting the old library, maybe three of the 20 preinstalled games actually interest me, Baseball Stars 2 being the only one that really gets me wanting to play. I would just want things like Magical Drop III and Money Puzzle Exchanger, since this system is supposedly in limited run would I have to buy the system and then wait months just to play them? And can I change the button config? I sure hope I can because the button layout is completely messed up for fighting games, something which holds a large share of the SNK library. And other questions come to mind, like will the games be set to AES mode or MVS more and can we change between? So many questions and such little info for such a high price. :/

I hope the system has enough power to run NGDEVTEAM's software.
