I'm downloading it right now. I'm curious to hear you talking about Final Fight Revenge :icon_bigg . Also, i remember when you first uploaded a video of Bomber Hehhe !

Anyway, any plans of another game stores "special" ?. Japanese game stores are a dream to anyone that likes games. I still watch the first videos you did, including the one from Hard Off.

Hmmm I just watched it, and it was a sweet show, but I was close puking, when I saw Parrappa the rapper game, since I really can´t stand modern day hip hop. And also I have always had an anti thing for that game. The other reviews were great, I even enjoyed the commercials. And the outside view of Chofu was great :)

So a good show all and all .

There was going to be a Tokyo Game Show 2006 but I'm not going or looks unlikely due to the new baby coming next year. Need the cash you see. The missus said I can go but I don't know if I can rake up enough to make it a worth while trip. Apart from that I'm planning or should say started a Saturn Beat'em Up Special (won't be finished for ages though) and there is a special planned on independent games shops within Japan. Not sure when they will come but they are on the schedule. I may do a special section for vol 25 on Namco Wonder Land if I can be arsed driving there (Takes about an hour to get there)

@WolverineDK, Parapa the Rappa isn't that bad is it? I quite like it. I know just what you mean about all that rap shite but you just have to leave all that at the door, so to speak.

Oh well, if I had to choose between Parapa the Rappa, and Spicegirls Spiceworld, then I would choose Parapa the Rappa , but well when I first saw it. I just felt sick, back in Gamesmaster (uk) perhaps it was the cellshading that did it, back then. But I don´t even like the demo, I once played of the game. So maybe it is not shite, but well I am not fond of the game.

Excelent show yakumo, i definetly give this one a 9/10. It seems so natural now, especially the pacing which is much better now. You seem to have quite a bit of ideas planed. Well thank you for this terrific volume. As for parapa the rapper, its not bad, but i honestly cant get past the 3rd stage, the timing is just so damn tricky.

Excellent show indeed, Yakumo, one of the finest so far. The new format is really taking shape, and the selection of games was very balanced and varied, plus really fun.

I really like Parappa the Rapper, but I've never been able to pass Stage six.
It's really funny and really fun to play, that one - and the music is terrific. Too bad about the mediocre ps2 sequel.

I enjoyed the commercials you chose, also. Chrono Trigger... man, they just don't make them like that any more, do they? It would probably be a lot of work. but if you made a detailed special on that (or RPGs of that era) for Retro Core, it'd be a hit.

Making more specials about everyday Japanese life would be cool so that us westerners can understand many cultural things that help define their gaming art. Awesome idea.

Baldr Force Exe looks awesome. I'd love to have either the PC or Dreamcast version. Is the PC Version somehow easier to find?

You know, I have no idea how easy any PC game is to find in Japan. I have no interest what so ever in PC gaming  The DC version is practically impossible to find. I've seen every Dreamcast game available at some point in a used game store apart from Baldr Force EXE.

I've got a video of me driving the card on an initial D style road but a F*ing taxi got in the way so I couldn't go that fast. As for an RPG special, I'm afraid it will never happen. Far too much time would be needed.

Yakumo-sama: you could always try to look through the SNES library of RPGs and try them in an emulator. And may I recommend you Lagoon ? :) and then you could look through the megadrive library of RPGs, and etc. So you could take the RPGs, from the different consoles, who are in rom format :) and well, if I shall recommend a shooting game, then I must say Airgallet(arcade game) :) I played it yesterday :)

I'm actually playing Lagoon at the moment. 5 hours in to it now. It's not a problem of getting RPGs but a problem of playing them. You need to spend at least a good few hours on each one before you can make any comment on them.

Yakumo; I have a question for you about Parappa the Rapper. I loved that game at the time when it came out; I beat it in fact (maybe twice). I also beat the sequel, but I have to say that it isn't as good; it seems to be mainly just a rehashing of the original, without much new.

Anyway, I recently played the original a little, and I found it quite difficult. I noticed that when I felt quite positive that I'd hit the button at the right time it told me that I'd missed, and usually to get a "good" rating I'd have to hit it a little before or a little after. Whether or not this works, however, seems entirely random to me. Any tips?

By the way, I must say episode 24 was quite good; one of your best.

That could be it, actually; because when I played it before it was on a PSX, and this time it was on a PS2.

Hmm, I found that you should press the button just a fraction of a second before the icon goes over the button mark. I know what you mean about it seeming a little off at times.

    Will do !

Just like everyone else, I really enjoyed this episode. Was nice to see Pacland again, lol. I remember having it on the Amiga many many years ago and being soooo bad at it :S The trip around Chofu was great, gotta love that heat :D One thing I will say is that you sounded far too happy blowing stuff up in Bomber Hehhe :p

I also want to echo earlier comments about the game shops, I do enjoy those undercover tours, in particular the segment in Episode 17 is one of my favourite parts from the shows.

    Congrats on the baby :D
