Really enjoyed Volume 24. Thought the Parappa review was excellent. I've never been a big rap fan, but always loved the weird animation, bizarre music and characters it features. Incredibly addictive game. The Zupapa review brought back alot of memories. I'm a huge sucker for the Snow Bros/Bubble Bobble style games. Would love to see a Tumble Pop or Nightmare in the Dark review someday. FF Revenge was wickedly bad. Couldn't help but crack up over the number of times it crashed.
Yep, Final Fight Revenge is bloody awful ! It actually crashed 4 times when filming that section !!! Total shite ! Yakumo
Great show! I really liked that you taped the NGPC instead of using an emulator. Also, weird, I got Fatal Fury too, and it has an extra option under the 2 player option, a score/records screen that I didnt see in yours. Another detail: every game I have has a battery to save some sort or info (options, save game, etc). I love the NGPC, sadly mine is gathering dust since I got the DS wich I am also using as an alarm (it's louder than the one in the NGPC). And the NGPC screen sometimes takes a few seconds to work.
I might actually start to do some serious Neo Pocket reviews in the future. My version of Fatal Fury is a beta copy so that's probably why it doesn't have the score/records screen. I'm not sure if anything else is different on it. It can also display the Japanese version of the game as well as the English version. I'm guessing that the final release can do that as well since a number of Sega games since the Master System to Dreamcast do that depending on what system you play it on or in the case of the NGPC, SAT and DC what language you have the BIOS set to. Just a quick heads up to let you know that Retro Core Volume 25 is now available for download from the official FTP http://www.segagagadomain.com/RetroCorepage-main.htm and Archive.org http://www.archive.org/details/RetroCore-Volume25 Yakumo
Hmmm I will review it too, when I have it down on my pc You said Ko-na-mi instead of Ka-no-mi was that a slipup ? a tiny little complain is, the introduction music to the different videogames (the rave techno) isn´t great. It is a bit annoying. I was more fond of the trance , but well back to the good points well I have laughed at least three times already of some of your comments But call me a psychic, but it is like I know what you will give some of the games (points). And the dreamkara was ok (damn that ecco part wasn´t that fun). But I think if I am going to hear you sing to the dream kara, then you should be completely knackered on booze. Before you sing he he Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles weren´t called Hero turtles here, since we didn´t have that strange censor law you had in the UK. So here it was called ninja turtles (well they used another name in the series), but the meaning was Ninja Turtles So a very good show, I must say Yakumo-sama what a splendid show
Excellent show Yakumo. The selection of games was very diverese. Some of them very obscure which I find a plus. In the future are you possibly going to do a review of rent a hero on mega drive or rent a hero no1 on dreamcast?
Great show as always, although if memory serves correctly you at one point already showed the dream karaoke unit in a vid you released involving you semi-drunk actually singing songs in front of the camera
That's because it is Pronounced KO NA MI Yeah, I hear you. I've been thinking of changing that meself. Volume 26 will be the same since it's almost complete now so I may change it for volume 27. Didn't knwo that. I thought the whole of Europe and Australia had the Hero Turtles name. I'm trying to feature more odd games these days. Glad you liked it. I'm pretty sure I did Rent-a-Hero on the Dreamcast ages ago. I'll have to check that one. There's no chance of me covering the Mega Drive one though since I don't own it. YOu are king of right there. I did make a Dreamkara video with me singing when I was semi drunk but that was well before Retro Core had started. The video has long gone now though due to a nasty virus I had a year or so back. Yakumo
But I do remember the Hero Turtles name, since I had the first 50 stickers from the chewing gum packs, when I was a child, and it was above the Crang picture . But well I once read a funny thing(on an old forum), and that was the UK thought "ninja" was a "naughty" word. And well what I read, and what I felt was funny, was that the kids back then could curse worse than "ninja" lol . Well it was the same with SoulBlade (sadly there Europe got the same version as UK) , and there they censored the Nunchacko. And well again the old Build engine game Blood , with the throwing stars was censored in UK (with banana bombs ?) and was it the German version with green blood in Blood ? or was that also the UK version ? And the same with carmageddon there was green blood too. (the German version was the most censored of all means). Since the "normal" European version was available here without any kind of censorship at all. And that includes Carmageddon too. Oh well that was the past but still the censor laws aren´t hard in Denmark. Heck, I think you can still buy GTA with the bare tits and all that jazz here without any stops you.
I will have to download all the volumes now. I love retro gaming and can't wait to see these videos. GAMEFAN
Pretty cool show. I've played some of these (Confidential Mission, Guwange, Turtles In Time), so I found them familiar. The feature on the Konix was absoultely awesome. Also, the fact that there's Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna among the commercials was super-cool (I'm a big fan, as you can tell from my avatar). It'd be cool if you have any of those (maybe the later ones?) to cover them if you have the time. Segagaga looks awesome too. I should get that. Pretty good show, Yakumo.
Hmm, I have all the Yuuna games on the Saturn but two of them are low resolution character media discs which was well disappointing when you conceder the Saturn can produce the highest resolution out of anything before the Dreamcast. maybe I'll cover the 3rd game one day. Yakumo
