Just a quick notice to let you know that Retro Core Vol. 23 is out now at Internet Archive (http://www.archive.org/details/RetroCore_Volume23) and the official FTP (http://www.segagagadomain.com/RetroCorepage-main.htm) Yakumo
Well i watched it 2 days ago and here are my impressions. First I must say i do love the new ending and intro. As well as the mixture of the old game title cards with the new ones from one of the games you review. The selection was definetly alot more diverse this time. I do definetly appreciate you covering the virtua fighter history disc as I have never seen it at all due to it being packaged with shenmue 2(know of any shops or places that sell it seprate?). The only review that was a bit of a downer was the simpsons one. Not to be offensive as your dedication for this show is amazing, but it was a bit much constantly hearing the apu impersination durring the whole review and slightly irritating. But again please dont take it as an insult as overall i found it to be a real good show and thank you for having a good alternative to other game shows. Keep up the good work, I definetly like this new style to retro core.
Hmmm what can I say the whole show makes me smile, and also I enjoyed the Simpson Arcade review alot, since that way you talked like Apu is just like raw Danish humour, and I think you would like the Danish humour alot And I laughed my arse off when it came to your impersanation And well the humour was the same about the 12 drawings , but some people just got into fucking jihad bananas over them. Since humour is humour (and it is fucking universal ) , even when it isn´t always so "political correct" lol the other people can just go screw them self, since humour is the only great weapon against evil of all sorts (heck if I remember right, then there is a "Hinglish" humour tv series in England) So a great show indeed  I also really liked the doungeons and dragons review alot and well anyway a great show I enjoyed alot Anyway a great show is what I can say about it
Loved the improvements, intro and ending are great, also the tunes for review introductions are great. Overall a massive improvement as far as that was even possible with the high quality your making already. Also you do a pretty good Apu Keep it up, looking forward to #24
Thanks for the comments guys. I wasn't sure about keeping with the Indian voice but I thought why not  It's all harmless fun. Actually I do a much better voice than the one on the video. That was recorded at 2am so I was feeling rather sleepy. Another thing I was worried about was the new opening and ending since they are just footage that I've edited together with a little bit of special effects (such as the opening when the helicopter zooms to the screen with it's light on. The original animation doesn't do that) unlike the others that I actually did make from scratch. Retro Core 24 is well on the way now. Got some great stuff on that including a look around where I live. NO game shops, no used hardware shops and no arcades. Just pure normal life. I'm sure you'll love it. Yakumo
Downloading number 23 right about now. Looking forward to it. Wish I had a decent Internet Connection...
Hey Yakumo, not that this a complaint really, but why do you always release the download versions before the date you say you will (the last two, anyway)? I'm glad to get them early, but sometimes I don't notice when they come out because I don't bother to check until the date you mention.
I don't as such. Retro Core is normally available from archive.org because of their system. Some times it takes a few days for the upload to clear all the checks then others it does it in a few minutes ! As for the FTP that goes up on the 10th. Remember that japan is 8 to 9 hours ahead of GMT. Yakumo
Another top-notch episode. Although, I do kinda miss the Illusion City intro with them fighting the never ending holy war against those goddamn Casuals... I'm amazed you gave Head Hunter such a good review. I always thought the bike controls were horrible, or maybe I was just lousy at the game back then.
The bike controls are horrible if you try and control it like a car racing game. The controls are actually pretty good since they represent the sort of feel you get from a real motorbike. Yakumo
Okay, downloaded and watched number 23. Liked it a lot. Wild Guns brings a lot of memories... and it's hard tracking down a copy down here. That was an awesome 2 player game. The new intro is pretty cool and all, but it's not as videogame-related as the older ones. I liked it, even though. Before checking these forums, GaijinPunch's old site, and RetroCore, I'd never have thought there were adult, or borderline adult, titles for the Saturn or PSX. Good show as usual.
Hullo, long time lurker, first time poster. Just wanted to say that I really love what you're doing with the show. Really enjoyed the Akihabara special and looking forward to seeing what your 'hood is like Have you considered doing perhaps a hardware special as the various profiles you have done on Retro Core are always entertaining and its nice to see some of the different things that you've managed to procure in your time
thanks Cherry_Death. I doubt I will ever do a hardware special though. far too much messing about getting all the systems set up and so on. Yakumo
It's August 20th which means the New Retro Core is now available, on DVD that is. You'll have to wait until October 10th for the download. Here is a list of what will be featured. Yakumo
Now that is one awesome lineup..might have to try and find me some paypal cash to get the dvd version.
