Just a quick heads up to let you know that Retro Core 28 is now available for download over at Archive.org - http://www.archive.org/details/RetroCore_Volume28 Yakumo
Ok, finished watching it, the new resolution greatly improves viewing comfort and makes game details much more visible, i hope you keep this format for the download version. The show itself was great as always, lot of variation in systems this time as well.
So you don'T mind the larger downloads? If people are fine with the extra 80Meg added on to the file size then I'll gladly keep it at that resolution. Still no where near the DVD though Yakumo
I don't mind at all, i'm on 8mbit dsl with no download limit and i think most who download will be on broadband anyways so 80 megs doesn't make the download that much longer, but it sure makes watching a lot more enjoyable.
Even at home on 1mbit I don't mind an extra 80mb - Here on uni where I often max out the 10mbit LAN Its absolutely no problem!
Just watched Vol 28.. new resolution is much better! extra 80meg in this day and age is nothing.! Still cant stop laughing at this months 'Shite of the month' !!!
Happy New Year nocomply ! I thought you had been trapped working your arse off recently. Aye, you can't go wrong with a bit of Saturmn Death Crimson! YOu'd be surprised at how much that shit can cost! I've seen it a few times at the 50 pound mark! Yakumo
Great show Yakumo. It keeps getting better and better. PS: I would never imagine that Death Crimson was so awful. h: And Burning Road ripped so much stuff from Daytona USA that Sega should demand a percentage of the money Vic Tokai got by selling the game. :110: (although it wasn't exactly a big success anyway  )
this show was excelent yakumo, I loved the segment you did on the virtual console with the benny hill music. The game selection was nice and varied. This newer quality version is a big plus. It was a joy watching the show on my 360 (streaming from my comp). I was wondering if you used the virtual console to capture footage for f-zero and castlevania?
Ah good old Benny Hill. That tune brings a big stupid grin to my face everytime I hear it  Yes because the Wii gives out a fantastic image even through composite. The Mega Drive is crap, PC Engine is also pretty bad and the SFC is good but not at good as the Wii. If I get the chance I'll be using the virtual Console for many PC Engine and SFC games. Mega Drive I'll use the real hardware since the stuff up on Virtual Console is dull or been covered already such as Gunstar Heroes. Yakumo
Been offline for quite a while, but I'm SO looking forward to this new volume of Retro Core. I'll comment on it when I finish downloading and watching.
I had to upload a new version of Volume 28 because the old one wasn't being found by the archive.org search engine for some reason. It's still on their server though. So now it looks like Vol.28 has hardly been downloaded. Yakumo
The 2nd show of 2007 and what a packed show it is. Not only do we have the standard selection of Japanese game adds but also our very first Game Cube review !! Yes, it's about time Nintendo's Cube got a bit of Retro Core love after having the general public turn it's back to the little door stopper. PC Engine - Alien Crush Dreamcast - Evil Dead Dreamcast - Magforce Racing Saturn - Torico (MPEG Preview version) Saturn - Code R Saturn - Virtua Fighter 2 Saturn - Street Fighter Zero 3 (Game of the month) PlayStation - Assault Suit Valken 2 PlayStation - Tobal No. 1 Super Famicom - R-TYPE III Nintendo 64 - Sin & Punishment Game Cube - Bio Hazard 4 Mega Drive - Elemental Master PC - Streets of Rage Remake Mobile Phone - Devils May Cry, Pentarium, Erementar Gerad Yakumo
No, sorry. I've been very busy this month so putting to gether Retro Core took longer than I planned. To do the arcade stuff I have to record the sound and video separately then edit them together which takes ages So there is no arcaee stuff this month but I'll make up for that in next months show with some X68000 and arcade goodies. Yakumo
Because they are filmed with a digital video camera which doesn't have a separate audio input (Sound is picked up via the stereo mic) so I record the sound to the harddrive and the image to digital tape. Then the digital tape is copied over to the HD where that and the audio are then edited together. This takes more than twice as long as doing a normal game. Yakumo
