Yeah, only Retro Core is going due to the amount of time it takes to produce. It may be only a 1 hour 20 minute show but takes about two to 3 weeks to produce during my spare time.

SegagagaDdoamin will still be updated as will the new movie vault. That's much easier to update than the actual main site :) Talking about updates, I added another 10 movies to it last night.

I'd imagine that editing for retro core must have been quite brutal, having to go through all the footage and see what is best to use.

Hmm, editing wasn't so bad to be honest. What was the main time taker was the voiceovers oh and the encoding. Went like this.

Record footage in 12MBPS Mpeg 2
Edit footage then save as uncompressed RGB video (Very big files!)
Record my voice over while watching the RGB video.
Remove an mistakes or unwanted background noise from the voice over .
Add the voice over to the RGB video clip.

Once that above process had been done to all sections of the show, they are all put in to Nero to compile the DVD. Once the DVD is made I convert that to the XVID download version. I can't use the RGB files to make the XVid version because for some unknown reason the audio kept going out of sync.

congratulations for 32 RetroCore volumes  I really enjoyed watching it. I loved the hardware specials and your visits in the Japanese Arcades. I remember the WonderMega special where you filmed the Wondermega from all sides. It was so wonderful ;-)

Furthermore I think I haven't got so deep into retro gaming without RetroCore. Thank you very much

I hope you can continue RetroCore sometimes. A monthly issue seems not possible, but probably an issue each quarter.

Yakumo: I am watching at the moment another retroshow called Retroware, but I don´t feel your show is threatening by it. Since two things the two quite professional reviewers are doing wrong in my opinion, is censoring the F word, and variants out(probably also the other 6 words you can´t say like shit, piss, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker and cock). There I must say. And they are a bit inaccurate about where some of the games were released, like the SMS version of Ninja Gaiden since it was released in Denmark also, and not just in UK(I don´t know where else it was released). And then when I saw their review of Snatcher. They don´t understand, not all over the world is the legal age of consent 18 heck, where I am around, there it is 15, and if it wasn´t for an extra Japanese law. Then it would be 13, instead of 18 in Japan. So, it is a good show, but nothing to feel threatened about. But anyway, when you feel Retro Core needs a revival, I will be waiting for it. Since RTC is the best show, I have seen in retro gameing ways.

Anyway, they are trying hard to be professional, but they aren´t on your level yet, but they are ok :)

It'll be a great loss to know no more retrocore :(
After i downloaded my first episode (Can't remember which one) i imediatly started downloading the rest of them.

I just looked at that Retroware and i don't like it that much
its too like a normal games show and it seems lifeless

Well, RTC is to me something that is special, and Retroware isn´t that kind. But well RTC SHALL live on, but I think Yakumo needs a break. But RTC is a show I like, since it doesn´t censor words out, and it is damn fucking awesome. But as I said, Retroware is professional, and good. But there is a BIG distance between RTC good, and them.
But I think they are doing a fine arse job anyway with their show.

Retroware = professional, well presented scripted show.

Retro Core = As armature as you can get. Couldn't give two shits about scripts. Mistakes galore but it all comes from the heart not some well though out clinical plan.

Retro Core will return but don’t hold your breath. Originally it probably wasn't going to make a come back but due to the amount of mails I've received I think it may be well worth continuing the show in the future.

Oh, by the way, volume 32 maybe a little late due to an error at archive.org's upoad script. Hopefully it will be fixed by tonight.

You know that we will support you on whatever you choose Yakumo. I don't think that there is anyone here who wouldnt understand that the needs of the family must always come first. Besides, you deserve a breather after all the work you've put in. If retro core comes back in any fashion, regular, semi regular, one off specials, they will be greeted openly and warmly by all (Expecially if there are hardware reviews and undercover store filming involved :D)

For anyone having trouble with downloads there's now a new mirror up with volume 32 and many more. Download should be faster than archive.org. - http://retrocore.radiosega.net/ big thanks to SegaMark from MySega / Radio Sega for the mirror !!

New price guide for the Retro Core DVDs plus a new Full DVD set.

Retro Core DVDs come with full colour high quality printed CDs and covers. Instant access to each game via the DVD menu screen as well as far superior picture and sound quality over the download versions.

Price Guide (Postage via standard airmail included)

    1 Volume - 9 pounds

    6 Volumes - 40 pounds

25 volumes (Full set - volumes 11 to 32 plus all specials) - 100 pounds

Unfortunately Retro Core Volumes 1 to 10 are not available on DVD due to the original digital tapes being damaged. The only available versions are the download show.

Yakumo-sama I have found some Troldspejlet episodes on youtube . So now you can see what program I used to compare your former fucking great show with. I wish there came more RTC shows, but I know there won´t be another one in the near future.

Here is a search of all the Troldspejlet episodes there are on youtube. Even though you don´t understand Danish. Then you can always compare it with your show.

Out of boredom I was watching some Retro core this week. Good stuff. The DC Shooting special became a good thread starter on HG101 and here.

And why did I always compare retrocore with troldspejlet ? because whether Yakumo-sama said he was only an amateur , then it was as professional as Troldspejlet. Troldspejlet means The Trollmirror. Check them out, even you don´t understand Danish since it is worth it :)

troldspejlet had NES Amiga and SMS (maybe C64 too ?) as the first gaming platforms Jacob Stegelman reviewed games on. And he continued on the "next" generation of consoles too, so dig in for a blast from the past. Even if you don´t understand Danish.
