Thanks amrod. I've received a report that the Cx4 games (MMX2/3) report the "REGISTER FILE" self-test as failed on bootup with v0.1.5 but continue to work normally afterwards. I cannot confirm this with my hardware (all tests pass). Does anybody else have that problem?
Thank you for the update, first priority was to try my Dezaemon saves and they all worked. Im happy now.
Same here, no problem with any version of MMX 2/3 on my NTSC Super Nintendo (2/1/3) and 0.1.5. I was having some minor graphical issues on stage 5 (the lava stage) of Axelay with 0.1.4a as well as with a homebrew VGM player I found on the nesdev forums. The latest firmware seems to have fixed the latter but I'll report back here once I have time to play through Axelay again to see whether or not I can say the same for it.
tested both EU and US MMX2/MMX3 games on my snes 2/1/3 1chip console , all tests pass fine with 0.1.5
2/1/2 SNES. No Cx4 problems. I did notice a graphical glitch in Chrono Trigger. Every single time I used the Aura Whirl dual tech during the Nizbel fight in the Reptite Lair I'd get these lines flickering around the characters. http://oi46.tinypic.com/2nkqm41.jpg I don't remember if that's a bug in the original game but I'd just thought I'd bring it up.
I had similar problems with chrono trigger, I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread somewhere. I didn't remember it happening using the real cart, but I went back to confirm it and got the same glitches. It seems to show up randomly in game sessions. Sometimes doing a cold reset will get rid of it.
I don't know. I'm starting to have doubts given their frequency. Those same graphical bugs during certain techs are creeping up a little too often now (Mount Woe, Ocean Palace) for me to have not noticed after all this time. I've probably played this game at least once a year since it came out so if they do happen on a normal cart I doubt the glitches would seem so alien to me unless they were particularly rare. So while it's possible they happen in the original game I get the distinct impression they're more common on the SD2SNES for whatever reason.
Hi guys. I am studing the 65xxx assembler and I would like to do a demo using the MSU-1. Anyone know what kind of prerequisites I need to use SNESCOM on my Windows 7 in order to compile the MSU-1 video player source code provided by Ikari_01? thanks in advance.
I've noticed it consistently during the Frog Squash in Magus's castle during the opening attract sequence. I double-checked on my actual carts (I have both the US and Japanese versions) and it doesn't happen on either of those. So, it does seem like it's related to the SD2SNES. Edit: And in case it's relevant, I use a 2/1/3 1CHIP-01 SFC. I do have a few other models as well that I can test on, though, if it seems to be related to specific revisions.
I've had this happen before. This is in the Black Omen, right? I can't remember if this ever happened to me with the real cart-- its been a while since I played using it.
@TonyTheTiger Re the broken text box: Can you supply a relevant SRM file and exact instructions to reproduce? Also does this occur with older firmwares (0.1.3/0.1.4a)?
I remember that happening to me in the Black Omen also. Use Ayla to charm the tubsters there. I think I had it happen charming other enemies, too. I do remember the glitch showing up exactly like in the screenshot he posted, being something garbled with Lode Sword.
thanks. I already knew that page. It seems that I can use the WLA-DX to compile the assembly code describing the use of MSU-1. The question I have is if I can use the SNESCOM in Windows 7. This is the main page of snes compiler - SNESCOM: http://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/snescom.html
http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/377262/Chrono-Trigger--USA--srm.html This is the best I can do. It puts you in the Black Omen after all the bosses have been cleaned out. Playing through and charming everything in sight should eventually cause it to happen. Give special attention to the Tubsters. Also consider using Aura Whirl a lot to see that other graphic glitch I mentioned (or just fight Queen Zeal at the end and let her use her Hallation attack which has the same visual effect as Aura Whirl and has also triggered the bug for me). The thing about this bug is that while the trigger seems random, once it hits it's there to stay (at least for the duration of the fight). Ex: If you use Aura Whirl and the graphics don't glitch then they probably won't no matter how many times you do it. But if you use Aura Whirl and it does glitch then the same thing will happen every single time you use Aura Whirl for the remainder of that battle. So I can't be sure how to track it down other than to keep playing. This just happens to be one point in the game which it did happen, both the Aura Whirl glitch and the charm one, making it a good place to search. But of course the game is trying to make a liar out of me by not giving me the bug after a half hour of trying. :mad-new:
