Yeah I forgot how much of a pain is for you, fancy getting shot instead? Double-pwn! (how the hell you pronounce that anyway?) PS: just j/k btw
Is it even possible? I suppose a game could be coded to take data from the flash memory, but I'm not sure on the technicalities of the Wii security policy or how much of a hole this could open up with action replay style devices etc. I agree with your points about the need for a visual upgrade if Shenmue saw a XB360 or PS3 release, but "fuck" every five minutes? Come now. The Wii audience is no more sophisticated than any other. Then you need your glasses changed. GTA4 is not going for totally realistic looking environments, it has always taken a stylized art direction, last gen for hardware limitations, but this generation to keep the theme going. Regardless, environment size of something like San Andreas couldn't even be realized on the DC, let alone the kind of complex and busy enivironments you see in GTA4. Either you've yet to play the game or you're trolling for dramatic effect. Impossible. It's far too big to download from XBLive, even now their limit has been raised. Shenmue on the Saturn was only ever a proto, never even close to a finished product. So it would be more than just pressing Saturn discs again. It would be programming for an old machine to a small group of gamers. You'd have to pay something like $700,000 per copy.
I've got one of those friends. He's not bored of it, so why buy another game he says. Trying to convince him to get Mario Kart... that would actually make me buy a Wii so I could kick his ass online. I'm on game 1 for my PS3. I have no idea what or when game 2 will be. Again w/ the releasing of the prototypes? Hmm.... do I really need to bother explaining?
The graphics of GTA4 are of course better than something released 8 years ago, nevertheless it's no Gears of War, for obvious reasons. That's my whole point - that unless a game like GTA/Shenmue looks as detailed as GoW for example, I am not impressed nor convinced. The whole argument was that Shenmue's graphics aren't "unplayable" in this day, since the game still retains a lot of character and many details usually missing from most modern games! An overhaul of the visuals would make it prettier, but I m not sure how much more realistic. And the question arises: Would it be worth the expense of modern visuals ? The answer is probably not, especially considering the cost.
If this turns out to be true I guess the graphics would be improved a little maybe like passport 3D models ( like Ryo, Chai etc explaining the game features... ) quality and such for scenarios and everything which could have already been done in the last generation ( GC , PS2 or XBOX, could have handled that improvement ) and so would the wii. I think it would sell quite good since it's the wii we're talking about, just a good advertising campaign and it would outsell in japan and here. IF this is successful they would port ( since it's done already as said in many places ) shenmue 3. At least that's my opinion.
So I guess the xbox original games I downloaded right to my HDD can fit on a memory card as well? MS already has games on Live that are huge but run off the HDD. My point was, Sega already has some classic games on there, and MS has large xbox games for download as well. There's plenty of room for Live to grow by adding more older console games.
The games are 4GB each. Unless something radical happened, Live! game downloads are still capped at way below 1GB. Unless they released it episodic.
XBLA was capped at 150mb, now it's apparently just been upped to 350mb. (Stupid move if you ask me, hopefully there's a restraining order for the sizes so unless you've got a good reason to break a certain size they'll hopefully prevent games from going that big without reason) XBO's largest downloadable title at the moment is 5,9gb. Largest "stand alone" game on XBLA is currently 166mb (Penny Arcade Episode 1), unless there is some other recent title that is larger. Largest "expanded" game on XBLA is currently about 900mb (Lumines LIVE!, which even has DLC that is bigger than the old XBLA size limit. The DLC sizes range from 30mb to 213mb). So unless there is some other title that's had more DLC added to it, Lumines ranks as the largest XBLA title at the moment. Shenmue 1-2 on XBO would be totally doable as long as it's done within the limitations of the original Xbox (Let's say they went through the trouble of inserting Shenmue 1 DC assets into Shenmue 2 Xbox... Or just put up the bundled "Shenmue The Movie" as a Video Marketplace download along with Shenmue 2 on XBO).
You know, that may actually work: SEGA could release the first disc from Shenmue as Episode 1, with slightly improved graphics, controls and sound, and see if it sells enough to make the 2nd. Then keep it that way until they reach what it would've been Shenmue 3:nod:
yes but then you wouldn't have to buy a Wii shadow. I personally contacted SEGA about this and they agree that you need to get a Wii pronto - and they re having none of it!
I already have a wee, and girls love it! May get the console if Madworld rocks/doesnt sucks as much as SSR and TP did. Way to go with the offtopic btw... PS: and its ShadowLAYER.
If you liked MadWorld, you ll get a kick out of No More Heroes, that game oozes with unforgetable boss battles and style. And for the record, girls LOVE to play with the Wii. IT's actually been used for tactical purposes before to great bed-time success Wii sports and Wario Ware
Yeah you been talking about that for a year, broken record... Actually I'm suspecting you use the Wii to distract them while you put a roofie in their drinks. Rape isnt cool dude, unless, dunno, you rape LLcoolJ...? J/k
Hmm let's just hope this turns out to be true, maybe they even create a poll like they did with dreams LOL
Wii = Dreamcast Lite?! I´m not sure if the next Console from Nintendo will be the same Success like the Wii if they release tons of oldie-ports for the Wii... I dont want to play my Dreamcast-Games on the Nintendo Wii!
Maybe, they had a remote, and they wanted it to be cheaper than the PS2, but honestly I cant see any other company but nintendo getting away with selling a console built around 5 years old hardware. Seriously, I still remember the flack SEGA was getting because the DC could only push 3 million poly/sec, while the PS2 could move 70 million. Too bad back in the day nobody stopped to read about bottle-necks already evident in production specs nor to compare (and see) how games looked in each console. IMO is all down to the majority of consumers being complete morons...
The Wii has plenty of good games fyi. I don't consider myself a moron for owning and loving one more than my other current generation consoles. It's also the retro gamer's top choice thanks to VC and many games that continue well loved franchises. The nintendo fan has every right to rejoice because for the first time after many years a nintendo home console gets enough penetration to guarantee originality without fear of low sales. To point out a few master-pieces, Galaxy and Brawl are games you won't find on any other console. You can street fighter this and Virtua Fighter that, but Brawl/Melee addictive as crack with tons of nostalgia and action to go around. It's the first time I can officially enjoy most of my loved nintendo games in a single, presentable and quiet box with something for literally everyone. From the hardcore, to the girl next door. Videogames aren't only about online and a fat ass. They should bring people together and actually be fun for everyone involved. I really admire the Wii for this reason precisely, because further to offering the standard nintendo dish, you also get games that appeal to more casual audiences that were previously intimidated by games. I haven't seen such cross-class interaction since the NES days. Finally, you might call the controller a gimmic, but that's denying a few facts. A game like No More Heroes can't be currently done on any other platform. The decisive version of Resident Evil 4 is on the Wii and the IR pointing (unlike the unprecise motion sensing) is spot on and perfectly executed. Tons better than waving a mouse around in front of a huge noisy computer sitting on a folding chair with your chest over the desk. As you realize, the Wii's controller has indeed offered new ways of gaming and enhanced many of the older ones. I can't remember having as much arcadey race fun as much as I had with ExciteTruck. It gets you involved beyond just your fingers and you feel the rush. The Wii is something fresh, a much needed injection of originality in an otherwise stale industry that usually goes for "bigger and better looking" formulas of old games. You should give credit where it's due man
