But that 50% isn't a controlled sample group, if I ask 5 people if they like oranges and all of them say yes, this doesn't mean that everyone likes oranges.
I agree in some respects though. If you look at the Wii game library, only a handful of games really strike me as being better than average. Which is a poor ratio and was the biggest problem on the GC and N64. Unless you like the typical Nintendo rehashes then you're SOL. Currently the XB360 has the best library, but this generation so far has been pretty mediocre IMO.
Yeah the 360 isn't THAT far behind the wii. once everyone gets sick of waving controllers around like idiots they'll move on to a real system with real games.
you wish you had point and click support on the 360 with so many FPS games for it. MS won't even give you the option to use a keyb+mouse ffs even though it can be natively supported and the PS3 does it too. The IR controls are the couch's mouse pointer. Don't you forget that. btw, you can get a 360 Premium with HDMI for 260 euros around here ^^ pretty sweet deal but who knows when it'll die =p
Where you're pulling these numbers from? wait, dont tell me, I know... Quoted For Great Justice:nod: Agree 100% Dunno about this being the most mediocre generation, more like it underperformed. I wouldnt say the Wii isnt a real console, but I've to agree that since the bulk of Wii buyers (you know, the ones Nintendo is targeting) get it for Wii sports and little (if anything) else, the moment they get tired of it the fad will be over and sales will plummet. Is like the 2600: it wasnt that much about the console itself but the novelty and the fact that everybody was getting one at the time. Actually MS is working on that. Seriously, what did you expect? they're the kings of the "me too"
Now what the fuck is that? I take it you have some concrete proof for your statement, like all the other shit you're saying about the Wii and the 360? At least take the time to spell correctly. Interestingly enough, I read that Nobel got the credit for the "invention" of the Nobel prize, but said person failed to recognize his true invention.
If that moment comes Ninty'll just lower the price. They can afford to lower the price alot more. Can MS?
True that, in fact the X360 should be a lot cheaper by now, compared to price cuts in the last and previous generations. A point less for the guys at redmond. But on the other hand if the Wii is (as "in theory") just a fad then no price cut will increase sales once those start going down.
where am I pulling these numbers? I dont know, try telling someone you can get the supertotal of a product for 3/5 of the price of a new game (around the same price you d fine the GC and PS2 versions) and see if they d rather own the previous versions common sense dictates my numbers because it's a reasonable man thing when it comes to "more is better" - especially when nothing is sacrificed.
well today/yesterday sega announced that it licensed the Unreal Engine 3 für a new game... maybe its shenmue 3 für nextgen
[rant] I still don't see why people are bitching that much about how the Wii is lacking games... The console has been out for one and a half year, same as the PS3. Ofcourse, it's a known fact that the PS3 is in even more lack of games at the moment and in the nearest future too. Well, guess what, the Wii has the Virtual Console, WiiWare and full GC backwards compatibility, chances are that you're a bitching bitch and should quit your yapping and get started on that GameCube catalog that you never touched. Now, the 360 has been out for two and a half year, and I've bought a creepishly huge archive of games for it (the growth of games in my collection has taken a creepy increase over the past 9 months... And the XBLA set is almost matching my retail set), but note... this is also a console that has been on the market a year longer than those other two platforms. Also worth pointing out that I've got 14 retail Wii titles. And that's excluding two solid first party titles; Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy, both of which I haven't gotten around to picking up myself yet, as I was busy hogging my brother's copies at his place instead) Not to mention that I've also got some Virtual Console junk + Lost Winds and Dr.Mario. Are people gonna tell me that consoles such as NES, Mega Drive, PSX and PS2 had the most blastacular fantasticly epic fucking super gigantic library during their first 16 months on the market? (Excluding Snes, N64 and Dreamcast here, as I honestly feel that those had some pretty solid releases from start to end) Also, while I'm ranting away: What's with the price drop thing? People keep expecting price drops on all sorts of things, it's hilarious. The PS3 and 360 currently sell for less than it costs to toss them together, so they're already a good deal there (even though I can ofcourse agree to that there is a certain limit to what a console should cost to begin with). The systems have hardly been out for a while and people already want'em to drop... and drop... and drop some more. Know what I hate? I hate it when I buy something really pricey ("investment" type of pricey), just to a month later find it on sale with a 30% price drop, especially if I paid a large slump of money for it. (I guess this doesn't reflect the entire world, but I bought a Wii on launch, and since then the price of the Wii has dropped here by about 30%) Not to mention that a 360 Arcade (w/wireless controller, HDMI, 256mb memory unit and some other random piss) costs less than a 3/4 of what a Wii costs now, and toss in the money for a 120 GB HDD and you're still below the costs of a Premium AND you've got the same crap as the Premium + More (unless black console or metallic DVD-Rom front is a must have for you) (Let's just bring in the PS3 into this too. Where I live, the PS3 currently costs more than a Premium 360. A cost difference that is x1,5 of the price difference between a Wii and a 360 Arcade and it does not come with all the up2date console jizz-jazz, does not feature PS2 backwards compatibility and has a 40gb HDD vs the 360s 120gb) [/rant]
