Someone need to MAN UP and modify the loader that boots SLBB-00001 from MASS: elf to boot from the HDD within a KELF. I would if I was more of a coder. :\

    I'm more of a tinker. ;)

Anyway, we're so close of having it working to it's full potential ...

Did anyone test "ToolKit" (an old compilation of cheat engines and other proggies) in the emu ? Would be interesting to know if the emu can run one of its EXEs... If so, a little injection of the EXE in a region free BIOS and cheaters (me included) would be swimming in happiness:congratulatory:.

... or something similar (even nastier, combined with a mcunformat cmd):biggrin-new:.

im not very experienced programming vise, lets just saya im more like one of those people who just bend the code until it does what i want instead of writing anything, but i saw this thread and the first thing that popped in my mind is that would it be possible to have this loader boot up a multi disk game and have the multidisk game itself have a list of games to boot off from ?

iirc there are more than many ways to generate "demodisks" with pretty much infinite amount of titles loaded in them (only limitation being space on CD since HDD loading has been impossible so far)

So, cd single speed is 150kB/s.
What's the max. possible usb speed?
Can't remember all the different speeds the original ps1 does...

    Rgds.

PS: I tested a little bit and noticed it would be great if a modified evil-ule loads the default settings from hdd. Any idea? ;)

Hey, does any one know any info on the Memory Cards for the emu, as I sure you all know that it can save. it save two cards at "hdd0:/__common/ps1emu" card0 and card1. Is it setup like any PSone cards for the PC emu? Most like not.. but maybe.

I'm not sure if that's true or not, as I have not tried any games that use it. But the good news is that (you may know this) it haves Memory Card, Analog Controller, and Vibration Function compatible.

Thanks for posting this, I'll try this way out as well... man I'm happy just to be able to use this, love to be able to make/hack/mod/edit and all. (Like you that is.)

No, this is not HD Loader... its a old but good Emulator made and Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., and is the start of POPS for the PSP's PSone Emulator.
Now, yes in short this is like HD Loader (but not) for PSone but only works one game at a time... as in you can't make a list of games to boot from. You can also boot this off the PS2's HDD-OSD and no need for a FMCB mod, mod chip and all that. I'm sure KrHACKen can help you see what is this. (If you can't see from this.)

ps2 has usb 1.1 stuck at about 1 megabytes per second. so it is more than enough for psx game loading.

still the same problem - but now at least i know that the problem is not on unpacker side but on packer side.
http://rghost.ru/43513123 here is both - working and not working kelfs

By the way - does anybody know how to make working START + SELECT + L1? For me it just freeze and only every 100th time i can press reboot :)

    watching this thread closely.

i think that is a great achievement. ps3 also has ps1 emulation, but it is software emulation and it is faulty. for example spyro 3 just lags.

i assume pops 00001 uses hardware emulation not software emulation like ps2psxe, right?

if so, compatibility must be around 100%

The NONWORKING.KELF is truncated. It lacks 3472 bytes from the packed ELF EOF to the KELF container EOF. That's the first thing I saw, but I didn't test the ELF itself...

It's funny for me if the game freeze that's the only part that works and all the games I tried so far work on that. Are you make it use other bios files like scph1001.bin and so on, maybe that's part of the bios... no that's most likely not it.
I have not try it at this time but... I'm sure I'm doing it the same as AKuHAK. 3472 bytes are gone, well now I see why the size was off before adding it back to the "PATINFO.KELF".

Also, is it just me or does the emu run the game is a higher video size? It looks like it playing in the PS2 video output... I'm most likely wrong but it looks that way to me on some game.

OK... Then please turn insert mode off. It's a KELF container. If you change the KELF size / alter the MG crypted last block (16 bytes, starting from FCA0h) / mess up with the KELF header (0h to 80h), teh KELF is kaputt. Usable space is 64544 bytes (enuff to handle my n2e packed ELF launcher), 80h to FCA0h.

I'm going to do some Zzzzzzz, good luck.

Thanks for the help and info, great works as always. Have a good time. (You know... the Zzzzz that is.... I'm soon going to do the same.)

P.S. Just to let you know, I was not using "insert mode". Just that the new packed ELF was 61,088 bytes and the old was 61,076 bytes. That from using Packer 0.4.1, its more then what it started at. I'll just edit the packed .KELF for now.

Notes: the bytes size is just from packing the unpacked ELF (that you uploaded), I made no edits to it. As you can see.. it looks like its not packing it right.

Guys, the MECHACON won't decrypt an EMPTY container... It will FAIL if it's empty. So these have an small encrypted TEXT message on their end for giving the MECHACON something to do. Cutting the tail of the container is NO GOOD and decryption WILL FAIL.

That's great news! oh and by "All CD tracks works fine" does that mean that you got "emulator doesn't support audio cd" fixed, I try to play Tetris Plus [SLUS-00338] but no CD tracks played.
I got it too work as well.. I'm very happy for this emu:encouragement:, I'm just nameimg my games by the ID (Like, SLUS-01534). I'm also trying to make a "Compatibility List" at TheISOZone.com, If you try a game and it worked or not.. PM me some info/notes. Thanks

I tested 19 game so far, and only 2 have errors and 1 is not playable. This is my list "The PS2's PSone HDD Compatibility List" (If I have any info wrong, let me know.)

    Hi!

Don't you use the SPOP-PS1-List any more?
    I prefer this one.

I like it as well, its just that I can't add info to it on dial-up to it. I'll add my info too it... if you like me to, as I update my list. (All my are done using the Bult-in bios)

P.S. Is it just me or was the name "SPOP-PS1-List" going to be "POPS-PS1-Lest", its just a little error from what I see.
