The 3DS has been fully hacked

This past month has been HUGE for the Nintendo 3DS modding scene. First the SKY 3DS, then Gateway announces support for the latest firmwares and now Smealum is about to release his exploit.
I bought a 3DS off Ebay last week and I can't wait for it to arrive. Anyway, I hope the 3DS is as much homebrew friendly as the Wii.

It will be fully hacked when CFW of latest firmware is available. Kernel access is needed to make cool things like on PSP.

 

True, but I think that a CFW will eventually come. We have gotten this far, so we should be able to make a CFW sooner or later.

 

Oooohhh nice to hear that Gateway is compatible again.

I'm not too familiar on what that all means, but does this make region-unlocking a possibility?

 

So I did a bit of reading up. Sky 3DS and Gateway are infact compatible with latest firmwares and the New 3DS model.

SKY 3DS is still region locked, so you can't play JP games on a EU 3DS. Gateway, afaik allows multi-region because of the emuNAND... Might be wrong with that though.

Very tempted in a SKY 3DS now, however the issue being is... No sites that sell that type of products accept PayPal. I don't like that idea at all. So I may just go get a disposable pre-paid card for this.

Hmm, ill buy the game and save some money to buy a 3ds... was thinking about it long time... can I buy any 3ds with sdcard slot or should I check firmware versions? (I go for new, no secondhand)

Don't know about you guys, but I'm going to get Cubic Ninja and then wait for Gateway. If Gateway doesn't release their update by Christmas, I'm going with the Sky 3DS.
I hope some emulators with 3D support are coming soon.

 

Price will skyrocket at the moment now.

A lot of people still care about the 3DS.
But, yeah the Wii U needs to be hacked ! That would be so awesome ! I think that the Wii U will receive some usable hack in a year. The webkit exploit wasn't useful for anything. And I'm still waiting for the Wii key U or the Cobra UDE

 

you may want to hold off on the sky3ds to see if it gets hacked to remove the 10 game limit. If you didn't see, the 1st 10 roms you load are the only ones that can ever be put on it.

 

The team behind R5 SDHC ( a clone of Sky 3DS), has already found a way to do it. http://www.r5sdhc.com/operation1.html There is already a way to bypass the 10 game limit, which is tricky and risky, but it works. Sooner or later, probably this year, people are going to figure out have to remove the limit. If i'm correct, this trick also works for the Sky 3DS

Im going to be buying a Sky 3ds soon, after i get my XDK. 10 games is plenty for me as i dont see me playing much more than Pokemon

 

Wow, just bought a sealed Cubic Ninja and looked up the price on ebay. Somebody is already trying to sell it for 300$. I bought mine for 9 EUR
