I hope it's ok with you guys that I start a seperate thread. this way it'll be easier to identify and keep tidy. at least in theory.

so today I picked up 2 chinese original megadrive games: Chinese Fighter and Bomboy.

I was pleasantly suprised by Chinese Fighter, not because it's any good (it's not great), but because it's not completly horrid and more importantly, the sprites where ripped directly from Capcom's Tenchu Wo Kurai II (awesome game), and they look very nice on the md. it's actually better than a number of, albeit shite, official fighting games for the megadrive.
and there's an intro! a quite nice one too. I love intros, so that's a plus.

then there's Bomboy. great little game. was concerned that this would turn out to be bomberman with a different label/hacked title screen, but this is not the case. it is reminiscent of bomberman, though it is a 1 player game - you guide a little kid around, who plants bombs and destroys scenery searching for items and a portal to the next level, whilst avoiding and blowing up the enemy.

the game has a password system too, which is cool.

the graphics are very nice - cute, simple, and well animated. this game is very proffesionally put together (though if it where an official game some could find it somewhat lacking - it's a simple arcadey bomberman-lite game).
it's not suprising though - this game was made by non other than Gamtec!
Taiwan outfit, makers of the unlicensed shooter, Magic Girl. nice eh?

I'll be adding pictures within the coming days.

now I want to pose a question - what of sfc chinese originals and hacks? I know of Tekken 2, and Sonic 6 (or something) - also a Pokemon game I think I recall - but what else?
I remember finding someone selling King of Fighters'96 for the sfc some years back in Brasil - all there was, was a picture of the title screen. and of late I've heard about KOF2000 for the system but no further details - so what the hell is this game? even if it's like Top Fighter (cool game) I'd love to see it. anyone know anything about it? probably just Fatal Fury Special (I'd rather keep my expectations low).
also SFIII - a hack of SFII- what changes where made to that game?

lastly, something quite inntruiging - apparently there's a rumour that a port of Outrun is on a 6-in-1 multicart for sfc (read it on a forum where they where discussing undumped md games) - if it's true that would be amazing to see. as would Phantasy Star for the Famicom.

Pics pics pics !! I 'm looking forward to additions to this thread. I love these Chinese originals.

As for Out Run on the SFC, I'd say it's a hacked version of the very poor Big Run. I hope I'm wrong though.

I have an 8-in-1 cart for SFC that has OutRun listed on the lable but the game on the cart is Top Gear (Snes racing game). That isn't to say that there isn't a hack/port of OutRun though so will keep my fingers crossed as I'd love to see that.

I love Multi-carts and hacks etc too so look forward to following this thread. Just love it when you find a game that really shouldn't exist - even better when it turns out to be good.

I have a NES cart witch is called Tetris Family on the label, it look like a 6 in 1 pirate cart. The Menu where you select between game have the tittle "Block Famiily"

    So the 6 games are:

    Tetris
Another Tetris (dont' show exact name)
    3D Block
    Flippull
    Magic Jewelry
    Block Force

I taked the game apart and it's a famicom cart with a 60 to 72 adapter.

Most game are copy of existing game but I can't find the rom or information about block force. The game is mage by RCM Group like Jewelry and 3D block.

So did the existance of that game is know? If not I will dump it....

I don't realy have knowledge about fc/nes pirate stuff

Block Force is a clone of Quarth. It's made by Hwang Shinwei. There is a rom of a Tetris family 9 in 1 with that game on it. Check the link to my site. I have the game in single cartridge format.

Bomboy is 2 player coop actually. you go to different areas on a map - ice zone, castle zone etc. you have to clear the screen of bad guys and also find the portal. if you find the portal before you've cleared the screen, and place a bomb on the warp zone - a bad guy will respawn there.
    cool little game.

I wanted to pick up Resident Evil 3 for md, but didn't have enough money. no clue as to what it could be. and yesterday I saw a cart called metal gear solid. again, no clue - I am intruiged but a little hessitant. what to do?

I've picked up a sealed famicom pirate game today. hadn't seen one sealed before. might open it. it's called Lethal Weapon and is apparently a Lethal Enforcers clone or something. nice little box.
it sais 'design by Aoji Go Go Tokyo Co.LTD. compatible with Family Computer game.'
wtf? lol. anyone heard of the game or 'company' before?

Ooooh would love to see those Megadrive carts (Resident Evil 3 and Metal Gear) - I'd love those carts myself even though they are likely to be SplatterHouse and I dunno - Rambo 3 or something. Love all that stuff though. Just imagine if they are originals though. I'm huge Metal Gear fan so something like that would be a real nice curio for the collection.

my sentiment exactly. I'd amass a pile of unwanted pirate games and spend a small fortune doing so - but there being an off chance for something else being on these carts makes it very tempting.

    --

I just got done playing Lethal Weapon. comes with an instruction sheet in both english and japanese (not chinese). the back of the cart had a label written in japanese too. the game is Lethal Enforcers, but with famicom graphics- non of it is digitised. there's a nice enough intro too. playing it with a pad is a bit of a hassle - it is compatible with the light gun, so I'll have to get one. good kitch fun.

it sais Go Go 1994 when you beat a level in the game, so are these japanese pirates or wot?

Those MD pirates sound very interesting. It would be fantastic if they are original games. How much where they? If I send you the cash and some for your trouble could you get them for me? Also how much would shipping to Japan be?

you mean RE3 and Metal Gear Solid? I just found 1 of each for the time being and I already have an interested party in them.
this place may have once been a bootleg mecha, but it doesn't seem to be anymore - as far as cool junk goes anyway.
