I'd pay to be an advertiser in there.... Also, I would imagine that you can't be sued for showing pictures of an item.... Seems like an entity can't hold the rights to images that they did not take themselves. Car magazines show "spy" photos of dev cars all the time.
Of the consoles? no prob, but I couldnt find any pics of the MegaCD prototype, and I havent hear of anybody who has seen the multimega proto. I've a photo of the proto 32X in some mag around my archive, is no that different from the final version, but if it helps...
Wow now, this things are interesting and unexpected.... i guess we need to hear something from kevin, first, but those are quite flattering Edited to avoid multiple posts: just to keep people drooling another cover concept on the background the main article on left topics index. the one with white background and black text are about hardware the blue with white text about software. as usual just a proposition feel free to comment
i could provide pictures on the m2 at least on the black console and the dev system or the arcade version if wanted another interesting theme could be just a standover on the different kind of dev systems like a timeline of nintendo, sega, sony developmentsystems over the years ?
very nice idea if we could get the pics of the different revisions it would be great! we might go for that at page 3 immediatly after assembler's editorial and yes, m2 too is a great topic still i feel uneasy by the fact that actually we din't have a real go from assembler yet... i mean we would use his webpage name for it and he would be the editor, but he didn't accept anything so far
No offence, but the front cover needs some artistry. Anyone here do graphic design, that could step up to the challenge?
no offence taken If there's a graphic around i would appreciate his work and effort, tought i think that graphic design would be a nice way to differentiate from the usual low level vg magazine anyway, good graphic is great if someone can do that it'll be a great help, and i remember you that these are just concepts and that since no charge has been given i'm just an entusiast and i would really love to see other people give a shot at creating the cover and the rest of the pages for choosing togheter a grafical style i choose a white black and red because that reminds me of this webpage, but anyone can make a better one with other colors, artworks, gradients etc etc
Ive gone through tons of page designs, and have yet to find one that really works for me yet (hence why ive yet to put out a second magazine)... Take 2 highly different ones for example: Its extremely hard to find a layout that will work, or at least can be adjusted to work, with pictures and text of varying..importance i guess
Technically I should be able to help with design elements, though I can't say I'd be too useful (Is doing a bachelor of Digital Media at Uni, whatever that is). So I'd like to help with that if it's needed, just arranging type maybe or some designing though I can't say I'd be any good, basically I'm only good for silly little drawings and odd little animations.
I'm still not sure such background are suitables for such a kind of magazine, maybe having a really good one...
Im just showing you the different design aspects that Ive gone through over the many months, and the different ideas out there. Ranging from a clean basic style, to a more crowded style
I'm for a minimalist and clean one i'll post a sample when if have the time... the example cover i made is like that minimalistic and with that geeky feel that is nice to have i had 10 mins to waste so this sucks but like all the others shows a concept for what concerns backgrounds i think that gradients works great
Actually, if we go with the 36 page layout from http://www.egoworks.com/dreamweaverpress/printing.html , they actually say that the cover pages and inside pages are seperate, so you do in fact get 36 pages for writing material. You just can't write on the inside flaps, though. I wonder what the other printer's deals are though. The thought of a PDF, though using less resources and cost, tanks for me. More people prefer a paper magazine over digital magazine for the simple fact that you can take the physical one where you want. Yes, we have the web at school, but I can't go online whenever I want, hence the usefulness of paper media. I submit myself for one editorial. Emulation - a once past-hardcore user's view of the scene and his thoughts about its merits, but also it's negative sides. excerpt "Though I love the prospect of playing from a seemingly-infinite cache of games, I find the experience short lived. There is no instant-gratification in waiting three minutes or more for a PC to turn on. I am stuck using a keyboard arrangement that hinders the mobility of the original pad. Two-player games sure are cramped using one keyboard. Granted, I can buy adaptors or joypads for use on the computer, but that's beyond the point. If you have a reasonable console set-up, such troubles become irrelevant. Odds are you have all the controllers you need and you can simply pop in a game and play away. Now this was thought of on the spot, but it highlights some of my concerns on the topic. I also haven't touched on the "OMGGG I CANDOWNLOAD GAMES INSTEAD OF BUYING THEM" aspect of emulation either. Perhaps if the idea isn't fit for the (limited) space of the magazine, I can simply make it into a frontpage forum article?
all the ideas are welcome as always tought i think that the first editorial should be taken care by assembler. By the way, Assembleeeeeeeerrrr where are you? we need some oks from you and to know your ideas! otherwise our talks are just empty talks! We want our editor to come out and send us a signal! so people let's start all calling for him! keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeviiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn?
