Put the firmware .bin file on the USB device and select it in the USB GDRom menu.

For me Fat32 format tool help most problems. I use USB SD card adapter and 32GB Transend SD card.

Games like: F355 Challenge, 18 Wheeler and Jet Set Radio crash. F355 crash to intro video. If skip video can play game but when quit play it crash. I try PAL and NTSC JP GDI both crash same place at video. Jet Grid Radio CDI won't crash. 18 Wheeler try PAL and NTSC GDI both crash.

The issue will be you're side with the storage devices you are using or the source of the GDI's, as those titles work fine otherwise.

I finally got around to working on a part to finish out the drive bay around the USB port.

It snaps into the top shell where the GDRom would normally sit, then put the system back together and now your system isn't open to lose a drive in.

Any change you'd consider selling these? :) I really really could use one!

I will be willing to sell them, I need to make a few changes so larger USB disks can fit. I also want to put a slot in to store an extra drive in the case.
I'm also working on a version that will support a 2.5" hard drive.
Edit: I got it to work with my largest USB drive and put the storage slot in for an extra USB drive.

The lid switch still works with this?

Yes it does. This part only sits where the plastic from the original GDrom drive was. So it doesn't interfere with anything else inside.

I started printing these to sell, I don't have enough posts to start a thread in the marketplace forum yet, so for now if you are interested in buying them you can pm me.

It looks nice in that opaque case. I'm glad you like it. The fin is removable I put it in the design because another user suggested it may help with the heat from the power supply.

I'm fine with how my setup is currently, but out of curiosity how much was the insert? I have a bios switch hot glued to the sheilding on my USB Gdrom because I don't want to cut a hole in my sports dreamcast , but I would love to mount a switch onto and insert like this.

I can always add a spot to the insert for switch, if you give me the dimensions of the switch I can add it before I print. I'm selling them for $25 shipped within the US

Hmm, I seem to be having a problem with my USB GDROM. Was working until now. I can boot up to the blue menu just fine, however, selecting any cdi, gdi, etc will display a message that says "Firmware is obsolete".

I do have the latest firmware. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Edit: Did more testing. Even setting an image swap causes the message to appear.
