Good morning, I have email sent to Dr Mnemo an order for a usb GD-ROM (195 €), the 20/01/2017, but still Mnemo did not send me a request for payment via Paypal.
I have to wait or send a new request for 1 order?
I would not be insistent, I know that Mnemo has many requests

Just wait, he answers requests in the order he receives them. It took almost a month for my order to get the PayPal invoice

Come on, guys... I shouldn't have to keep saying this.

It's great that we have threads that go on and on, and you're all sharing information and helping each other. That's what we want. Please remember that these threads ARE huge, though.

You can reply to multiple messages IN ONE MESSAGE. Just hit the reply button on EACH one and the reply will go into your preview window. Simple. I've said it so many times... and it's in the tutorial that's stickied in the big green box that's been on top on the forum ever since we converted to Xenforo.

And you should all know by now - don't double post! If more than a week has gone by and nobody has replied since you last posted, that's fine. Otherwise, use the edit button.

I've just gone through the whole damn thread and it very nearly lost two pages, I merged so many double posts!

I'd like to try the new firmware, but it sounds like it causes issues? Is anyone using the newest firmware and approves?

I got bored with it, and haven't used it in ages. If MNEMO ever decides to implement a menu fitting the 21st century I'd use it again.

Some have issues indeed but all have been fixed with a later update that you can find in on of my posts in this topic.
I am running on the latest without issues.

Ok, I don't mind the retro menu, I am glad it works and loads fast :)
No need for fancy menu's personally.

Hey FG, how's the feature going?
Is it already possible to remove the dummy size of the GDI files?

We can rebuild GDI without padding, but what FamilyGuy was adding was truncating without rebuilding. ( I think )

If it is it worked fine with UGC, when I truncated my hole collection.
( made a batch file to process/truncate each game and transfer to a USB device )

But the rebuild of the GDI is per game base, right? Or is it possible to do a batch process and rebuild an entire set?

Rocky5 is right. I'm still working on it, trying to manage backup of files elegantly. But it'd be trivial to batch process it afterwards. I've been struggling with free time lately.

Hey there fellas, I just got my USB-GDROM and I installed the switch that detects when the lid is open and closed. I set the swap image and I start the game, but when I open and close the lid all I get is "Insert Game Disc". Am I doing something wrong? Is it possible one of the soldering points isn't making full contact with one of the pins? Its rather disappointing that I went through all the effort of installing the switch only to find out I can't swap properly.

One way to test is just boot any game and open the lid.

If the console goes back to the main bios screen, then the switch is working, if not and it ignores the lid open, then check the solder points, as it would indicate a bad install.

Another thing, don't use the swap ini file mnemo provides as that just reverses the process i.e open lid normal use, close lid swap, reset.

Thanks for your fast reply, but I solved my own problem. I was hitting the switch manually and I guess that's just not how the switching works because when I put the top back on to my dreamcast and open and closed the lid the normal way it worked like a charm! Whew, that was a load off my shoulder. I guess sometimes being stupid creates your own problems eh? hahaha

Hello, does anyone else have trouble with San Francisco Rush 2049? I tried out both GDI and CDI dumps, but none of the ones I tried work. Its odd too, when I load the file, it will show the dreamcast logo as if its going to start the game, and it will go to the bios. When I press "play game" it does the same thing.

I just updated to the latest firmware, I'm now finding I can only run Japanese GDI's and most some CDI's, I can no longer run PAL or US GDI's, they restart to the main bios menu.

I'm using a PAL DC flashed to Japan Bios, using the first gen USB-GDROM, anyone else have this problem? any ideas? I've emailed MNEMO to see if he can help.

If your games are rebooting over and over again like mine were it was due to the SD card needing to be formatted correctly. Make sure its FAT32 and 64K Cluster. Maybe the later firmware requires this? Just a guess though

This is a good one indeed.
I had to format my drive to get things working.
Ps. tool that he uses is also in my link to my earlier post.

Well, I tried the update, now I can't boot any games regardless of region, I've not heard from him yet, I've not tried the format tool as I don't have a windows PC and I don't have access to another external HDD as I don't feel like downloading all of the GDI's again, why the hell did I update :(

    Which OS do you use?
You have to format the disk in FAT32 with 64k block size.
That should be possible with every OS ;)
