Who says you couldn't have 8 players on a Revolution? Four would hold the remote control devices and 4 would hold the corresponding analog placentas. It's all about teamwork!!! ...word is bondage...
I think it's funny how I'm someone else and that you've interpreted what he said to mean such when I read what he said twice and still don't believe how you came to that conclusion.
What I was saying in my first post was not that everyone else's opinion is wrong, only that people already have some misconceptions about the controller. What I tried to do is pont out the thing I've seen people confuse the most, which does result in people getting the wrong impression and consequently having an opnion that is not based on fact. Now, if you disagree with me, that's fine, but atleast back up your view with some accurate and credible infrormation before you start to smear something you no little about. Of course, no one's opinion is ever wrong, that's by deffinition, but you can have view that are more credible or realistic than others. And I do have many concerns over the Revolution, marketing, 3rd party suppport, power, ect., but I don't think the controller will drastically affect any of these areas-but this is my opinion, so take it as you will. And I would like to ask you, where did I say that the controller would work just like any other without the shell or extensions?
At this point, no ones word is "credible". None of us has tried it, and no one besides Nintendo and the third party publishers know how well it works. All we have now is a concept that may or may not work in execution. So, in essense, all we have is a few comments from Nintendo that may or may not be exagerated. In the end, not a single person on this message board "right" or "credible" in a sense until we have tried it for ourselves. Also, to answer your comment at the end: It was a question asking your opinion, not anything you may have said.
Actually, many game reporters have tried the controller and given their impressions, and I would say that using their opinions as a basis for how well the revolution will work is the same as reading a review about an upcoming game. And I did not say that no one is right or wrong, however credibilty is a different matter. Someone saying 360ISTHES5HITTNINTYSUX is not credible, but another person stating their view based upon what is know about the controler is. True, no one can have a truly credible view until they have played it, but basing your opinion on things that are flat out false is not, in my mind, credible. As for the Revolution handling normal games with just the remote, it could be done with most modern tittles, but it would require some crafty button placement and wouldn't be the best option. And if you do think that the Revolution controller is a lazy design, that's fine by me, but I would like to back it up-although I do agree that the addons may become a money trap. But as far as I'm concerned, recycling the same controller design with each generation is as lazy as you can get, and a sign that nothing new or innovative is being offered on the new systems-example, did this happen with the major consoles 15 years ago?
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=11651 ^ you gotta smile when Microsoft praise the Revolution, "I want to give kudos for Nintendo for its attempt at innovation with the new controller," Moore commented, saying that the new device would -"bring people in that, as Iwata-san said, are either lapsed gamers or gamers that are intimidated by the complexity of the controller." "We need to grow as an industry," he concluded. "Having a simplified controller is one tactic in what is a larger strategic battle we need to face to grow this business."
