Which later found it's way on the Saturn anyway.

Supposedly the Saturn version sucked (so says Yakumo, at least). I've never played it, but I have the 32X version, and it's pretty good. Better than the Genesis version, which was pretty good too.

I really think the 32X gets a bad rap. Sure, it was ridiculous and ugly and had a small library, but it had a few good games - and it really did have better graphics than the Genesis. You also have to realize that they actually sold it for $20 at one point, which was a steal given the time and what it was. It's still pretty cheap even today.

It was certainly a commercial failure, I don't think there's any debate about that. But I think that's part of what makes it interesting, among other things.

The 32X was a commercial failure due to a lot of reasons completely unrelated to the system though. Sega canceled it due to Sony's entry and the loss of Arcades as a primary source of income. If it had continued as intended and received games into 1996 the 32X would be at least as well regarded as the Sega CD. I do think they actually needed to release the Neptune (Genesis-32X DUO) within 1995 as well.

Still I own twenty 32X I will never sell or trade because of their gameplay quality.

Do you mean you own 20 32X games, or 20 32X units?

Well, that's good to know. If you actually had 20 32X units, I might have been a bit concerned.

I've played neither of them. I like the graphic style of both versions though, from the screenshots that is.

Yes, the Saturn version of Virtua Racing is pretty bad. It has loads of content but somehow it's all lost.

I think somehow once again the PS2 port of Virtua Racing ended up being the best one....

Somehow. but that's for the Sega Ages thread
