Word. It's hard to believe that someone can still enjoy MD/GEN & SNES, but consider the NES, SMS & PCE to be too archaic. Is Super Mario Bros 3 too offensive to their eyes?

Anyhoo, woo Atari 2600. Pitfall 2 Rules!

I just wish like for a grace period these companies would sell there older consoles again. For maybe 1-2 months. I would kill for a brand new Snes right out of the factory that wasnt 20 years old.

Not only will I still play games on an Atari 2600, I am currently writing a game on the console now! Just something fun about working with such restrictions and trying to figure out interesting ways around it.

Never gonna happen. Too expensive. What's wrong with your SNES?

Good to hear! Let us know how it goes.

I'm sure they would if other companies hadn't stopped manufacturing the parts required to build these systems.

If there was profit to be made at retail then the supply chain would adapt. Fact is, it hasn't, because the number of people who still want to pay an equitable amount of money for a new, properly built SNES or Megadrive is tiny. It would be competing with both licenced and unlicenced clones that go for a pittance per unit at wholesale, and most people seem happy enough with that crappy clone hardware.

I would probably say my NES and 2600 games get the most play. I recently picked up an Atari 400, and have been messing around with it. Me and some guys want to make a game for it someday. =P

I'm mostly playing on my old Famicom and Super Famicom because of the great Fire Emblem series.

I use my modded Xbox the most, so I guess that's my answer even though my Atari is older (don't play too much, joystick's broken).

The system I probably use the most is my N64/64dd. As well as my Jaguar/Jaguar cd and my Saturn. I would use my M2 more often since its right on top of my tv but there is nothing I can do with it right now

Personally, the oldest for me is the Dreamcast. The ps1 and n64 look like either blury low-rest messes and the ps1 is just a blob of pixels to me.

I tend to play action/arcade games (SHUMPS, beat 'em ups, Fighting games, side scrollers) and considering most of those games are pretty short in general I play tons of them for different systems, so 8-bit era would be the oldest playable gen for me, Master system and NES.

The oldest for me is my commondore 64. But since i don't play on it, it'd be nintendo 8-bit. Seriously, Kid Icarus rocks :D
