My Master System's get used plenty. I still consider Pong highly playable, theres a few games for Atari 800 I love but neither get played on a regular basis. I find the Atari 2600 too primative for me, the Atari 800 which came out 2 years later did a lot of the classic games like Pacman a whole lot better. The only game out of the 30 or so 2600 games I've played for more than a few minutes has been Phoenix.

Well, I still play regularly with my MD and SFC, so that's my choice!

I would say my SNES or N64, I use the SNES to play lots of Zombies Ate My Neighbors or Kirby Super Deluxe with my cousin on coop. And on the 64 I love to play Mario Party, Perfect Dark and Smash 64 :p

Well, because of my ADHD I don't really play things (except eq2, but different) like regularly, but what I tend to do, is get the in the mood to play a game all the way thru.

Like last month I was doing Castle Wolfenstein on my Apple 2e, and I'm considering breaking out wasteland for one of my old computers.

But truth be told, my GBA SP gets the most playtime of my "consoles", and most the time I'm playing emulators on it (nes, tg16 - love military madness)

but if i still own a tg16, I'd probably play military madness frequently. can't believe i still love that game, even though I know it inside and out.

The real "oldest I consider playable" is probably the 2600, with some great classics like Pitfall! and such. The one I had to vote for though, is the NES. It definatly gets the most playtime out of my collection. Games like the Mario series and Final Fantasy take up lots of time. I don't play my foregn consoles much(Famicom/SFC) since I don't actually know much Japanese and don't really study it anymore(hard to find time for gaming, let alone language learning xD). Eh, anyways that's my vote.

For me its the SNES. I have a big collection of SNES and N64 games; and quite a few PlayStation 1, MegaDrive and SMS titles; however I prefer the SNES and play quite a lot on it.

I can't go back anything older the PCE these days, but right now the systems that get the most use are my PSP and DS - PSP in particular is perfect for me; plenty of PS1, Saturn, DC and PS2 games, and thanks to the lovely sleep function I never have to worry about how much free time I (don't) have!

Nothing beats a good old cart though

I would have to say Nintendo NES, Super NES, and Sega Genesis.
    It's all about the 80s. ;)

My NES, although recently I've been using a NEX. But, whatever. It's a system I grew up playing, all the right nostalgic factors are there. And every once in awhile I get a hankering for a really oldschool tedious RPG. Usually right after I beat something for PS2 or 360.

In terms of actual hardware, probably the SNES or Megadrive. I still play quite a few NES or SMS games, but they are generally emulated (especially now that mobile phones are powerful enough to run very good 8-bit emulation).

And same here :) I still play hours on end on my trusty Saturn, especially Jap 2D/3D fighting games with my Hori Arcade Stick  My Megadrive does get some playtime but no more than a few hours a week.

today i would say snes, but only because i dont have a system of an older generation.

playing on an emulator is so~so i do occasionally but i never completed a game on an emulator before, i think.

so i have to see for myself if i get a nes or msx in the next years if it gets much playtime :D

Probably the Super Nintendo and Genesis. I have a Sega Master System and NES but they're mostly ornamental. If I want to play a 2D Platformer or shooter or whatever there's probably a better looking or playing one on SNES.

And I tend to get all snobby about stereo sound and s-video output being the minimum.

Round my house it's the PS3 number one, for PS1/2/3/PSN titles, then the Sega Saturn and SNES fighting it out for second place, then Genesis. With 360, Wii, Atari 7800, and NES only getting switched on once in a while because they're either not my bag, too old, or not unique enough really.

I'd like to change that to the SNES, since it came back to life after being dead for over a decade...
