Full re-cap of Mega CD (model 1), replaced battery with battery holder for ML2032 battery. RE-capped a VA6 MD1. Doing 32X next, then sealing it all up for when my son is old enough to have it

Do you think he'll appreciate it? I think most kids are too obsessed with graphics, he might think it looks too old and not be interested :(

Oh he will appreciate it alright....(goes and gets stick)

In all seriousness I sincerely hope he does, I will sugar coat it a bit. Things like "This is what Dad used to play", "But son I spent many many hours fixing this" etc.

There are fellows (few though) that were either not born or just born that play and enjoy Sega (MS/MD). Will have to see, if worst comes to worst think what nut-case will think it is worth then.

Just finished recapping a VA6 model 1 Genesis for a client on PCEngineFX, and I also finished doing a 5V RAM conversion on my ColecoVision. If you have a CV I'd highly recommend getting the RAM converted as it makes the console much more reliable.

I somewhat doubt there will be a Playstation 5. Which is sad. I like Gran Turismo.

Far more time and effort than hes willing to pay (also more than it would cost to buy another - so its understandable).

Will end up as spares probably, case is in good condition (once cleaned up) and laser should work.

I found a Gamegear in the garbage that had some similarities with this, but not as bad.
I completely cleaned it. Does not seem to have too serious damage yet does not work.
I will recap it and see.

Oh, and i just fixed an old NES by replacing the PPU :)

While not a repair, at the moment I got a bunch of PC games for free. Sims 2 and a bunch of expansions were included, unfortunately a lot of them were really beat (case only, CD aint too bad)

Who does this to games really?

Some of the covers have water damage (tea stains for the most part ¬.¬) so I've taken them out, tracked down new ones on the cover project and chucked the cases that werent damaged in the bath for a nice hot bubbly to get stickers and gunk off and get them all clean.

Replaced the faulty DVD drive of my xbox with a GDR 8163b. Works really nice. I'm impressed how bad these original XBOX drives were. No matter what Samsung, Toshiba, Thomson they were all terrible! And picking between them is just picking between the lesser of two (or more) evils.

    People who hate The Sims?
