I replaced the case on a GBA SP, using a combination of parts from a black and red case to make a two-toned case! Sexy!

Just swapped a broken cap on a brand new out of box, Super Wild Card DX, for some unknown reason they used the wrong size cap at manufacture, resulting in it getting literally squashed ,bent and leaking when the system was assembled and closed, so if you own one of these please be on the lookout.

The system would not play any games and would randomly reset and flicker on the screen.

Couldnt find a cap small enough, but simple solution was to fit the cap on the reverse of the board where there is TUNS of space :)
Also replaced the suicide battery with another new suicide battery...

PS did clean flux off of the board after taking pictures ;)

I got this monochrome monitor. The dude said it had white phosphors, but he hadn't used it, so he couldn't say whether it was working or not.

    Here's the beastie:

So I hooked it up to the IBM PC. Power LED came on, and I could hear the HT working, but when it warmed up it looked like this:

I opened it up to look for any obviously bad components, failing to notice any, I took the PCB all the way out to get a closer look and noticed a huge crack in the PCB:

I used some wire from an ethernet cable to join up all the traces that lead over the crack.

And now it works a treat!

    ^^^Sweet work mate!

Finally fixed my model 1 Sega CD with Sony drive, got some parts from user bart_simpson. Had to clean the tray switches as it had opening/closing issues. Also did a FULL re-cap (including the cap's on the CD drive board).

Fixed up a T61 I was given for free and upgraded it a little... ( had a bad CCFL bulb in it )

    Original T61 setup:

    - T7100 @ 1.8ghz
    - 1GB ram
    - 1024x768 display
    - CD Multi drive

    Upgraded T61

    - T9300 @ 2.5ghz
    - 2x1GB ram ( will upgrade to 4GB ram sometime in the future )
    - 1400x1050 display
    - DVD Multi drive
    - Bluetooth module added with correct clearplates
    - Bios modded for support of slic 2.1, sata2 speeds, dual-ida and no whitelist

Have the advanced dock coming in and will probably stick the 6570 radeon in it to give it a bit more power.

Just picked up a composite-to-SCART converter dealie I found for Amazon on the cheap. I have a Sony PVM that supports both RGB and component but only has one set of BNC jacks for both, so I modded the converter to use component instead of composite. This way I can use component devices through the BNC-to-SCART converter I built and flip a switch in the back of my PVM as opposed to using a bulky switchbox and BNC/RCA adapters.

Not really a repair, but I picked up a PAL Sega Master System II in the mail and finished modding it for 60 Hz and RGB (through an 8-pin DIN) last night. I'm not done with it though, I eventually plan to convert it into an NTSC console and then I'll add S-video and dual mono audio.

    Since december...

    1) Fixed an RGH XBox 360. Needed a reflow and CPU_PLL_BYPASS had come off. *facepalm*
    2) Resoldered the power port on my Mega Drive 1.
    3) Fixed a sticky eject button on a PlayStation 1 (basically just took it apart, soaked the case in a washing up bowl and scrubbed it clean)
    4) Removed the parental lock from an XBox 360 Slim.
    5) Couple of DVD drive repairs on fat 360's.

That's pretty much it. I've got 4 XBox 360's coming to me on monday for DVD key retrieval from the motherboard, so that'll be interesting.

I just replaced the RF cable on an Atari 2600 (for some reason the old one had been cut and stuffed in the unit).

Back in August of 2012, I repaired an SNES from a guy on Craigslist. I had to solder a new AC port onto the motherboard. The guy then paid me $10.00.

I know, and it was my first actual look at a 2600, so I was like "Where is the AV port?", only after I looked it up did I realize I had to open the thing up to get to it. I'm thinking about modding it with an actual RF port, but at least I've got it to work.

If you want to keep the mod cheap....

The 2600Jnr don't look to bad with the simple transistor AV mod (as done to mine). The older 2600's don't seem much better looking than RF with the simple transistor mod.

There is of course the hardcore video mod where you tap off the chip, looks wonderful (with added s-video) but is of course harder to do (I have not done this way, just what I have read).
