My god, these guys are seriously sipping the kool-aid (some are from the iPad video) http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/iphone-4/345366?playlist=featured I'm kind of interested but I've already upgraded my phone. Plus I want to wait it out and see where winmo 7 goes.
I done video calling a while back on some older 3G phones without wifi so i fail to see how this face time is going to be that great considering you do need to be in a wifi area/hotspt. It might be that face time does the video calling thing a bit better but is just doing something a bit better going to make it suddenly great to video call?
I'm guessing the reason why its wifi only is AT&T in the US and also due to the fact its a way better picture which would have to have a stable connection to keep perfect. I'm guessing 3G just isn't strong enough in some parts in countries to keep stable? And lets face it if it isn't perfect its not good enough for Apple.
But in all seriousness... If it got a nice slide-out hard keypad, I'd buy one. I don't give a shit how thin my phone is. I carried around a Palm 650 for ages just fine. My G1/HTC Dream is perfectly comfortable in my pocket. I love how they just creamed all over themselves talking about the video "calling" then said it's so portable, you can use it "anywhere there is wifi". HAH, let's just slip that info in while you weren't looking, with the 'ol "deliver the line like it's a positive thing" effect. It's a sweet phone. In many catagories, the first and the best. More phones will come, though. I just hope they didn't patent having a camera on the front or else I'll personally leave a flaming bag on their steps.
Ya I'm curious about that too. Personally I don't care for the totally new UI in Windows Phone 7 Series(damn, that's a mouthful).
I'm not buying the iPhone 4 because I only bought a 3gs a few months back ( actually using it to type this now) and love it. Apple really need to get their head out of their arse and let Adobe produce a flash app for the iPhone. Saying flash is dead or not needed is fucking stupid! Most of the net uses flash for something or other. Even my site uses flash for the new HD videos I'm adding these days.
I wonder how they're going to advertise that here. Wifi spots in Japan are non-existant b/c most people that need it have a pretty slammin' internet connection on their own USB stick. Apple seriously needs to come out of the closet in regards to a lot of their apps. -iTunes sucks. Just about everything else is better -Finder is fucking crap. Dolphin in KDE4 blows it out of the water. -Quicktime. Do I really need to bother?
I'm not a huge fan of the interface but I'm quite currious in how the Live Marketplace will pan out plus the required min specs on any winmo7 device.
if the Windows 7 let me sign into Xbox Live and earn achievements on games I download for the phone, i'm getting that. for sure.
One thing I was curious about. Supposedly this new phone has a higher resolution screen. Does this mean developers will start making apps for this higher resolution screen that will break compatibility with older models? My girlfriends just lucky she paid the extra $100 for the 3GS phone about a year ago otherwise she wouldn't even be able to upgrade to iOS4.
My iOS 5 wish list: File management/browsing. Adobe Flash Adobe Shockwave Microsoft Silverlight Cloud music/streaming version of iTunes Download and install apps and files outside of the App Store. (In the future, I believe it will happen) Java Printer support Mouse support(may sound kind of stupid) Install different protocols and drivers Tethering Allow Google Voice and more Google products Emulation/ virtual machine software. (way down the line, you'll see it) Allow BitTorrent/file sharing apps(never in the App Store) Search parameters(Do they have this already?)
I am waiting for Win Mo 7, I like the interface, Live support sounds interesting, it's not tied to iTunes and the handsets will be cheaper on shorter contracts.
