Who's getting iPhone 4 then?

Ugg... Anybody here with a 2nd or 3rd gen Touch update to fw 4.0?

Ever since I updated my 2nd gen touch, the battery is dead with in a few days (even in sleep mode). Prior I could leave it in sleep and still have a decent battery a week or two later but now, when I do a full charge and use for at max 1-2 hours, then sleep it, 1-2 days later when I turn it back on the battery life is 10-20%, or less. What the hell?!?!

 

I would but I don't have an iPod Touch.

 

Same here on my iPhone 3GS. They really fucked up the battery life :crying:

 

So it's not just me. What the fuck apple?

I'm kinda sick of people going apeshit over the iPhone like it's the only smartphone on the market. I mean, sure it was revolutionary like three years ago, but by now the market is full of phones that are as good or better, and you can actually get them SIM free. Android is awesome.

 

I updated my 3GS and to be honest the battery life is just the same. I still have to charge the phone every day. I'm probably one of the few though that isn't really effected by shitty battery life since my phone is charged in my car for an hour on the way to work and then on the way home. It's also connected to my PC quite a lot at home. Now when I. Go on holiday without my car, then I'll feel the Apple Fuck up.

 

That isn't strictly true. No phone so far has a better touch screen or even as good. There are many with good touch screens though. Also the iPhone even with it's stupid no flash and dumb arse apple restrictions still has one major point going for it over EVERY other phone, the Apps!

I've said it before, I'm no Apple fan. In fact I dislike the company BUT I do recognise that the iPhone is STILL the best smart phone on the market overall. That's is why I bought one. People who slag the iPhone are probably jealous or have a serious hate for apple.

There's over 60,000 apps on the Android Marketplace and pretty much 0 censorship (unless the app is dangerous like we saw with Google pulling that one app last week)

They are quickly catching up to Apple, and not had a problem finding what I didn't want in there. It's indeed lacking in big first party game titles, but there's still some superb games on there, and a lot of them are free.

 

I want to replace my iphone 3g next year but i'm not sure if i should go with iphone 4 or some htc model...

The first one looks really seductive, on the other hand changing from apple will probably spare me all the hussle that itunes has got me into..

 

If your upgrading next year I'm sure Apple will have another upgrade by this time next year

Fuck Apple! Plugged my iPhone into the Mac and it tripped it into recovery mode. Now I either restore it and lose all of my data for the past month or vainly keep trying to find a way to get it out of recovery with data intact.

It's a fucking phone! This shouldn't even be an issue!!!!

 

Hold the Power and Home button for 10 seconds or something.

Too true. The upgrades from the 3Gs aren't that great. The HD video is still poor for real video recordings. Great for the likes of You Tube though but then again so is the 720 x 480 video of the standard 3Gs. Same goes for the 5mpixel camera. You aren't going to use the phone for important shots are you? Finally the operating system is available on the 3Gs OS4. Honestly, if you don't like the price, get the 3Gs. The only real major downside is the screen but that's not to say the 3Gs's screen is bad, far from it.
