Strange didn't itunes back it all up? I think they all have to reformat themselves every big update to install the new firmware but all my information was put back on fine.
Well, iTunes on the PC is shit and so slow as you probably know. Anyway, it said I should back up my data first so I did then it took 17 minutes!! to install the new frameware which it then decided to say that my phone wasn't connected to the PC. Bull Shit indeed. iTunes kept connecting and disconnecting the phone as I could here it going on and off plus my PC was telling me that the device was constantly being plugged in then un-plugged. So that's when I got the messaged telling me that the update had failed with my 3Gs showing a black screen. Tried to reinstall the last backed up setting but then iTunes tells me that there isn't one!!! I was so pissed off. In total it took 2 hours to update the phone and get back all my apps. Apple really need their arse kicked very hard for the shit they call iTunes on the PC. I use CopyTrans Control Center normally which does everything you need at lighting speed. Yakumo
I just had the chance to check it out. Fucking awesome piece of tech. Looks and feels great and I couldn't see any pixels, like printed paper.
That really sucks Yakumo and I have to agree with iTunes on the PC is incredibly slow at times. Although upgrading to Windows 7 seemed to make it go faster with me and I have experienced any of the problems I had on XP. The time it took to install the new firmware took about the same for me as well. Took like an hour to upgrade and then another to put all the contents back on the phone again. At least we don't have to do it very often I guess! I'm still proper pissed off at the fact O2 who I've been with for 3 years wouldn't save me a 32gb iPhone 4 for me to collect today. So after I got the rude no I decided I'd phone at 8 in the morning when they said they were opening. All 3 O2 shops. None at all. Not a happy O2 user right now their service has gone downhill over the years. Can't believe Orange offered to save me one and I'm not even with their service :banghead:
Yeah when you hold it all the radio waves are absorbed by your skin because the metal edge is a bare antenna or something.
LOL@ iPhone signal issues. One thing I love about my Japanese phone is that I can actually hold it properly without losing signal. Free "bumpers" to all?
Yeah but Japanese phones these days are crap. Yesterday a friend showed me her brand new Sharp with touch screen. Problems are aplenty! Too slow!, poor touch screen! Your ear activates the touch screen while talking on it!, boring typical no chance clamshell design! close to fuck all features. Japanese will NEVER accept the iPhone like the west and with that being the case there's no way they'll accept the Android. Sometimes the Japanese amaze me with their reasons and ideas that make no sense. The woman who bought this Sharp over the iPhone (Same price by the way) said that the design is what made her buy it. Design? It's pink and that's it. Yakumo
Ear activating touch screen? That is a huge flaw. Didn't realize phones over there were going downhill.
Well if you go back pre-2007 you'll see the iphone really started a revolution, since the phone scene was completely stagnant, every company doing the exact same shit and barely any innovations, since most of the "new stuff" was actually on the waiting line due to costs, but would make it to market eventually. Now yakumo what you say about japanese phones sounds a lot like some comments about japanese electronics in the 80s and early 90s. Sure here in the west we thought all those gizmos were amazing, but for every reliable walkman coming out of japan there were a few earlier models with lots of bugs that were released with the intent of testing them in the more tolerant local market, to avoid getting the brand tarnished abroad. All in all, I'll say japanese cellphone makers haven't acknowledge the iphone at all and continue to work like they (and any other phone company in the world) did before it.
Japanese phones were at one point the ultimate phones! When the west were using bricks in Japan we had very light and very small phones. Japanese phones were the first in the world for.... Different back lights (12 colours!) 4 colour screen 16 colour screen real colour screen cameras real games not some flash based shit. I was playing quality shooters while western players were amazed with Snake on their Nokia. quality ring tones size and style Widescreen 16:9 for movies from SD cards SD card used in phones Analogue TV (with record features!) Analogue Radio Digital TV (with record features) and so on.... But now NO Japanese phone comes close to that of the iPhone or Android. It's as if the just stopped any inovation back in 2007 and carried on with the what they had then. Yakumo
It's the same thing w/ internet in America (but roles reversed). My friend said his area just got upgraded to 24Mb/s. :/ Anyways, I never use my phone camera unless I'm taking a picture of something stupid and it's all I have. It's not half bad though. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
