Well I've got mine coming Monday. I'll be posting a review on here later that week if anyones interested. Hopefully I'll be able to clear up all the issues people have been claiming and any other questions people might have.
Probably not good but this is a short-term rental place. Or at least a lot of them are rented short term to business for visiting employees, so no biggie. The one that will really fuck the property value (40% decrease overnight) is a suicide within the unit. By law, they must be listed as such for X years.
Do you still get the discount if you kill a suicidal guy? That what I'm saying, companies there think they are protected, kinda like the situation with PC OSes in the 80s. I mean, AFAIK there were no actual attempts to compete with MacOS or Windows back then.
Been messing around with it past day or so and I have to say I'm really impressed the phone is built extremely well and the extra power really makes everything run smoothly. Got Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for the laugh and it runs perfect no issues. Well its pretty much the same as the Dreamcast version. I'll be doing a review over the week of the iPhone and other apps
There were literally hundreds of other personal computers during that decade, and they all had different operating systems to some degree, on account of the huge range of different hardware. Atari (ST's TOS) and Commodore (AmigaOS/Workbench) would be the main competition to Apple and Microsoft's offerings during the 80s, I guess.
Stealing jokes?! on teh internetz?!:-0:fresh: Room is OK, but why would I want a board? Yeah I know that, but where's the japanese OS? The closest I can think of its MSX, and that used versions of DOS and BASIC created by Microsoft so nope...
Yeah, fair enough, although not all implementations of BASIC in the 80s were by Microsoft. The only relevant example of a Japanese OS I can think of is TRON (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRON_Project) but as I understand it, it never made much headway into the PC market (it was apparently selected as the Japanese government's OS of choice in '89, but Microsoft successfully lobbied against the decision).
I like that this thread has drifted from the fanboys wet dream into Japanese real estate and achaic OS'
Heh, I heard the reason why most third world countries stick to windows licenses instead of moving to free software is mostly due to this "finders fee" local bureaucrats get for signing a deal with MS. They call it "change" because its actually a remanent of the cost of the license that doesnt actually exists.
the iPhone can record HD footage but apparently can't upload the HD footage to the internet, just SD. if you want the full HD video you gotta export it to a computer. anyone else try uploading HD video directly from the iPhone yet?
My contract has a few months left and I am looking at the HTC Desire as well Just upgraded my daughters to a Samsung Galaxy Portal uses Android and is great Also pre-installed LAYAR...now that is a laugh!!!
I just don't get those orgmented reality software programs. They just look like a load of crap dumped over the video feed from the camera. Cutting edge tech my arse!
It's purely for showing off, you know what it's like in the UK, if you tried using it and were waving your phone around, you would either get arrested for being a paedo as some kid wandered past the camera or the cops would arrest you for being a terrorist.
Augmented reality is awesome. It's a cool technology. At the BDNT (Boulder Denver New Tech) group I attend, there was one presenter that showed off an augmented reality app for the iPhone that is used at skiing resorts around the world. Check it out. http://www.rtp.com/info/company/realski.aspx Press release http://www.rtp.com/news-center-press-releases.aspx?mode=detail&id=2009-12-03 EDIT: Why won't strike through text work on this forum?
