I was wondering when someone was going to point that out. One of the worst pads in history. We can all argue about whether or not AvP is good or not (it isn't), but that pad is just objectively atrocious by anyone's measure.
Gamate. I have about 20 titles for this, and they are all terrible. Sounds, graphics, playability, no redeeming features whatsoever. Lol. That's not a console, but I know what you mean. If criteria for a worst system ever includes 'no real original games' then frankly there are several other systems I could lump ahead of FMT. However I don't feel that criteria can include 'no real original games'. How can a system with Bubble Bobble Rainbow Islands 1941 Edit WTF was I on??? Flying Shark ffs!!!! Kyukyoku Tiger Tatsujin Ou Splatterhouse Monkey Island 1 and 2 Zak McKraken (to name a few) (many of which are the best home versions available) be the worst ever? It simply can't unless one's gaming history only stretches back a week.
Well, there was the Marty...and since people are including the GX4000, we'd have to count that too. But definitely not the worst console ever.
I have to add another vote for the Philips CDI - I remember visiting a friend one night who was raving about it... It still gives me nightmares just thinking of how bad the games were. One in particular: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burn:Cycle Seriously, bad is too kind a word for that game, I'd prefer to use words like 'pathetic' and 'painful'. He played it all night... I struggle to think of a worse console - although admittedly I haven't played on some of the ones mentioned here.
I know lol. I was just pointing out that he said FMT, whereas he should have said Marty. (Admitedly I'm rather biased with my Marty love, and it's a very fair point that there are few original games, and only a couple of system exclusive arcade ports..but even so, a great game is a great game regardless of how original it is on a given platform, and imo any of the nine I list would redeem any console if the conversion was solid, and in Marty the conversions are more than solid)
You didn't specify that!;-) Did you ask him where he got that tshirt? maybe he was an investor at infinium and that was his severance package:lol: Owned, and I agree that the 3DO was much ado nothing: like with the phantom, the idea was great but the execution was crap. Even crystal dinamics ended up in the deadpool because of it.
The old brick Game boy gave me major headaches but still had Tetris. Out of the other systems I've actually PLAYED I'd have to go for the Game.com, while I don't even dislike it that much.
Bah! I really liked the Jaguar. I had a blast with AvP, Iron Soldier, Attack of the Mutant Penguins, BattleSphere, I-Wars, Hover Strike, Tempest 2000, and a handful of other games. Then again, I also enjoyed my time with the PC-FX, though all I could really play on it were Super God Trooper Zeroigar, Chip Chan Kick, and Zenki.
If I can go for an Addon I'll pick the 32X. Was brought that during the first week of its release in the UK with Doom, was the first time I had ever had a console that soon into its release (it was a surprise present) but sadly it was the worst possible. Doom was crap (I was already on DOOM II on my old 486, which was so much better than this peace of turd) I didn't buy another game for the 32X and it sat connected to my MD for about a year until we packed the MD away.
To me, the Sega CD was more of a disappointment than the 32X. My hopes weren't near as high for 32X. Even though Sega CD allowed me to play some of my favorite games (SNATCHER!)...It just never really lived up to the hype of what a CD add-on of that time could have been. The advancements just weren't worth the money, not to mention the terrible support it recieved in America. Seems even worse now, looking back on the PC-Engine CD. Granted the hardware wasn't that huge of a leap but the software really saved it. Aside from playing a bit of the TurboGrafx CD, sadly I wasn't able to experience the full force of PC-Engine CD until much later,
Correct me if I am wrong but you basically call the following games 32bit worthy? 8bit NES Mario 3 looked equal to better then zool if you ask me. If you don't agree, then let's use 16bit Mario World  Like mentioned before these CD32 games were 1:1 ports from prehistoric amiga games with only a "cool" intro added to them.. which is just a shame on a so called 32bit CD console.
Maybe if you're either blind or have a rare form of color blindness that prevents you from seeing more than 16 colors... But I have to agree that most of the CD32 games were pretty sad considering it was supposed to be 32-bit. However, there were still some good Amiga games on it that are still enjoyable if you ignore the fact that it was supposed to be something more than just a dumping ground for old Amiga games.
I hate to be the CD-i defense force, but what's wrong with a controller with a decent D-pad and normal face buttons? Served well for me for many years. Even the Zelda games are fine on the CD-i, when it comes to actual gameplay. Its cheesy as all heck outside of gameplay, but it is no where near the worst game ever, since you can actually play it decently. Hotel Mario is a fun puzzle game as well. The system also had some of the best versions of Dragon Lair and Space Ace.
The first screenie is accurate, but I actually ment these games: http://eager.back2roots.org/SSHOT/A/alienbreed3.png Alien Breed 3D (same quality as Doom) and I actually made reference to the wrong game on the last screenie, I actually ment Defender of the Crown:
