I think letter in the auction is quite different because the spacing and aliments of characters seem not to match in places. I try highlighting them by red boxes, but also in the green box the Mandarake letter has spaces were the auction one doesn't.
take a macro pic of the text please we can tell if it's modern laser printer. You have to remember that this kind of paint is applied using an electrostatic process where the plastic is polarized and the paint attracted to it. I can't see how you could fake this with the label edges perfect. Take a look at the edge of the label. Is is painted? Is it free of paint? There's no way he could protect the edge of the sticker from paint.
yeah..my halfblind granma would see the differences. where did yo get the one and other copy of that letter?
better pics for the best fake http://img80.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00003km0.jpg http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00004qs7.jpg edit: megaupload link for higher res http://www.megaupload.com/it/?d=G6KC2H9V
The letter looks pretty identical to the one from Mandarake to me, the cart doesn't show any signs of a paint job too. Is it for sure that YamYam is still at Mandarake (now) or is it just an assumption?
This picture of the letter looks real to me. But I don't understand because it seems different to the one he used in the auction. I think finding if Mandarake did or didn't sell it for sure will really, really help.
assumed it is the one from mandarake, so who the hell would like to sell that super collectors gem over ebay for some peanuts?
You can see grey in the screw sockets, and in the fine lines on the details. Can someone with a gold edition anything please check those areas for us. I think adol and a few others might have something to reference.
two things 1) the letter I have looks VERY similar to the one from mandarake, but in the auction you can see that the letter offered is biggger than the one he sent me 2) the paint is also missing where the cartridge contacts are located one more sospicious thing, he was offering a rockman 4, then he told he sold it and now he has another one for sale, that means he had by hands two gold rockman 4 in about a month, little strange BUT, he's offering also the 3 sfc sample rom and the v-jump chrono trigger, those would be a lot harder to fake and not worth the effort he also own the gundam silver cart with box I asked to him for a kinnikuman gold, he said that he own it but that don't want to sell it, why refusing such a rich opportunity of selling an expensive fake? so he's selling half fake and half real stuff? I'm quite confused
It´s easy with Rockman to see if it´s a fake or not : the manual and the soft are different from the release version (each 8 versions are differents).
My gold carts don't have that kind of "retail screws". They have tiny crosses in them (Kunio Dodgeball Gold Cart for example). Jhonny, what is find TOO STRANGE is that the only rare games he has to offer for sale are GOLD CARTS. Meaning ones easy to fake by gold painting them. Strangely he doens't offer Kunio Dodgeball Gold Cart because it has a completely different sticker, and probably he wouldn't be able to fake it.
he's offering also chrono trigger v-jump and sfc sample roms not uber rare but quite rare, and not easy to fake as gold items
Is it just a co-incidence that the seller's other ebay auctions are mainly for "gold plated fashion jewelry"?
