lol..just with the small difference that the mona lisa probably won't be sold from the one to the other day via ebay^^
Actually, I got my hands on "La Gioconda" (aka "Mona Lisa") as well as several other Da Vincis you may be interested in, and some very nice fashion jewelry. I'm open to reasonable offers! Very Truly Yours, Chirangthap Krongthet
No no no you got it all wrong Mandrake has the only one copy and they dont wanna sell it. Nothing else matters i heard it from my mates brother last week that a couple months ago he saw it so it must be there.
Very interesting thread this one. I have sat on the fence until now but I would like to add my 2p. 1) The paint work is suspicious, as Assembler pointed out you can see the grey work in the grill and the screw holes. 2) It came from Thailand. Anything made in Thailand is normally not what it seems. Example - Ladyboys!!! 3) I think it would be hard to prove that the copy that was in Mandrake is still in Mandrake (as people have said in other threads you get pounced on for getting your phone out of your pocket never mind anything else) but what is the likelyhood of - A, them selling it in the first place (Unless you had a kidney for sale and a very frail millionaire) B, the guy who stumped up the cash to get it from Mandrake then selling it (again, unless he needed this spare kidney) and finally C, the guy who bought it and then sold it sells it to a guy who puts it on EBay?!?! (I have lost myself here) To me it looks like a fake, smells like a fake and I can't read Japanese but I am fairly certain that text on the front sticker says 'FAKE'
Cheers for the link Paulo - I didn't read it close enough. Well... He clearly states there's only one of a kind so, yeah, someone just needs to see it in Mandrake to confirm that one or the other is lying. (I'd hedge my bets on the guy in Thailand. Seriously, though, how utterly stupid is it to fake an item famous for being one of a kind. This guy is a fruitcake.
Already done. The auction was between 13-20th October. Somebody confirmed me he SAW it at Mandarake on 22nd...What am i supposed to think anymore? It's so obvious!
In the art world there was forger who would buy originals THEN make a fake of the original and sell it with the original papers. He would say he lost the papers and wherever he bought the original would send him more papers. He did this many times. Had this guy bought the original first and then sold the fake no one would be any the wiser until years later when another was offered. As long as he kept the original hidden he could keep on producing fakes and with just fakes to compare them to he would be able to get away with it as all the carts would be identical. Ahh the perfect plan ruined.
Any chance that the dude from the auction is the same guy who posted here: http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=1092.msg30674#msg30674 Just noticed the floor is similar, and the dude has a bunch of rare stuff. EDIT: Just noticed his new gold SFC carts auction seems to match up with what he posted at FW.
Yeah, the problem is,it claims there is only ONE in existence. And it is still in Mandarake. That's a problem to me Too,wheny ou buy such rare stuff, how could you NOT GET the art sketches that come with it?
What I am saying is that if he bought it from Mandarake and THEN did this it would years before people knew about it. He might have been able to pull off more than 1 private sale if he was careful about it and still have the original. He could have said the sketches aren't for sale. I'm keeping them.
Well, the 4 telephone cards which have been originally included with the game had been missing when Mandarake bought the game off the competition winner. About the art sketch: it is only one and I have no clue why someone should buy the game and leave the Chirashi in the store. So you are right, good point. :icon_bigg Anyway, this guy really has the rarest stuff it seems. Ok, I know most games are easy to get if you have the cash, but the condition of some of the Famicom titles boxes are superb. Hot stuff!
Yeah, except it's probably all fake. Unless of course you consider it normal for the DBZ Gold Carts to not have the V-Jump triangle sticker on boxes,etc.. Nothing to complain, huh?
Very interesting Thread but these phrase confusing me. I have a gold Super Bomberman 2 here with the same screws but i dont think it is a fake ??? ------------------------ I think this Yam Yam from Thailand is a fake as i have seen the picture with grey colour rest here. It is very very bad that somebody wants to sell copies of it and paint it in gold Maybe interesting for someone. This is the collection of the thai http://rs331.rapidshare.com/files/156201675/Gold_Cart_Collection.rar
No,mine has normal screws as well. So is Super bomberman 5 Gold Cart,or Super Tetris 2+Bombliss Gold cart. In fact, the only title i own is Kunio Kun Tournament Special Gold Cart. But we're talking here of a game produced to 8 copies, while Bomberman gold carts are hundreds and any picture i've seen of it has "special"crews like mine) So i wouldn't be surprised Yam Yam Gold cart, produced to ONE copy, would have special crews as well.
OK guys, I've been to Mandarake in Nakano today, and Yam Yam Gold is still there in the display case along with the art and letter.
