Apple is, quite literally, creating a hoard of mindless idiots

iOS6 is a total fiasco. Many people say Jobs was merely a marketer but he ran a tight ship. the maps issue would NOT have happened under Jobs.

Apple couldn't survive without Jobs in the 90's and I doubt they will be able to now.

 

But the thing is they hold such a cult following it will take so much time. Might be like 20 years before they fall.

 

Without Steve they're going to get lazy and start glueing everything together.

The retina's battery pack is only the beginning.

 

It's funny hearing my friends complain about their new maps.

 

It's really stupid how they messed up the maps function. Google maps is what I use most on my iPhone other than text messaging, I couldn't survive without it! Not because I'd get lost, but because it's amazing how well it works to find out what bus route is the shortest and when buses/trains depart! This app being totally messed up I don't see myself updating to iOS 6 as long as it's not fixed or until they make the update compulsory.

Also please stop the whining about that "cult" which is the only thing that keeps Apple alive. It bores me to death and I'm sure I'm not the only one

 

After having my FB explode over a stupid phone i totally agree, i hear things like "well duh the screen is bigger....MUST HAVE" from people who already own the Iphone 4. i just feel like saying "listen to yourself, surely that precious money can go on ANYTHING else"

And i honestly don't think there is much left to do with a cell phone to warrant such excitement anymore, they are almost like PC's these days as it is

Serves them right. Apple is a cult. They brainwash youth and the technologically ignorant. But who could blame them when the mass consumers are this dumb? If I could sell the same thing with microscopic upgrades over and over again to idiots for hundreds of dollars, I would probably do the same. Smart money made from dumb people.

 

Lol, they didn't even make an effort to make it their own lol. I will not be updating to iOS6. Never ever update your iPhone, the hardware is designed to run on the firmware which it already has, updating almost always plagues you with random battery issues which never get resolved. Updating to a major firmware revision just puts more strain on the hardware (processing, memory, etc), it's not worth the permanent hassle.

Screw apple though that's all I can say, once this contract is up I'm going android.

I take back what I said. Apple is an amazing company. They make quality products aimed for intelligent people with a sense of independence and individuality. The products they make always have exciting new features that make each revision worth every penny. I'm always jealous whenever I see my fellow students at college use a Macbook. My Windows laptop is fine, but it just doesn't brighten my day like seeing that shiny white Apple logo. I'd gladly pay twice, no, three times the amount I paid for my Windows laptop if it means I have a reason to smile each morning. Apple is great.

hahahaha, oh my, that was funny. The post of the week for sure. I do agree with you 100% Prometheus. It’s not about being trendy and I couldn't care less that people go out and buy every Apple item but what gets me is when they insist it's the ultimate item in that range be it a phone, table or laptop. Apple products are not top in any of those categories due to specs and price.

I actually have an iPhone and agree with Prometheus too. I got it because it works out quite cheap with my contract (£600 total - phone and 12 months service) and I knew I could resell it for a lot afterwards.

It does everything I need it do to (email, text, phone calls) - but I could quite easily use any other phone (WP, Android). The only reason I dont switch is because I am used to this one. But I don't like the "OMG APPLE!!!!111" attitude.

I recently did a bunch of training/qualifications for Apple stuff (mac deployment, server administration, etc) and found it quite terrible. "It just works" is a complete lie. There are numerous issues with the OS that they refuse to fix until the next paid upgrade and if microsoft did the same, people would flip the fuck out. But because its Apple, its fine apparently.

No one likes a fanboy.

Seriously though, I do apologize if I genuinely offended anyone in my initial post. I shouldn't lump every Apple user into a single group. That's not fair to the sane individuals that don't treat Apple like a religion.

Generally speaking he is right - "people" are dumb. They buy what ever flashy new thing they are shown as the new hotness. Don't get me wrong, he kinda goes on the offensive end in his post - but its his general point I agree with, just more diplomatically.

While you (and I) might have an iPhone - I don't think his posts are directed at us. People who post on sites like this, really aren't the "norm" and tend to make more informed choices.

When people are queuing for MILES outside an apple store just for a new phone - they quite rightly should be called mindless idiots IMO.
