so this would actually allow to play debug games from publishers/developers on retail consoles? or is this one of those debug-features, which are disabled?
Most likely the fact that you almost definitely break copyrights/download music/films or whatever yet when it comes to games you complain about it. Also quit with the insults please.
So your MAME pc is only gonna have non copyrighted/free of charge games released by the developer games? Or that GP2X you had never used any copyrighted material? Never watched copyrighted content on youtube? Played any of those leaked never released games? Prop Arena? Sonic? Just using the internet you gain a huge amount of enjoyment from copyrighted content so dont act like your squeaky clean. Just because you love games you get annoyed but dont act like you never gained any free enjoyment from copyrighted content. Either way this isnt the thread to carry this on. If you wish to post in the unmoderated thread to carry on the topic.
I havent got any roms on Mame unit. as stated in the past its only the guts of a cab I still working in the interface of the cab. FYI the GP2X didn't have anything on it hence it getting sold as it was unused. Never player The sonic or Prop Arena games (did however offer funds to the sonic game to help the site out). Only time I use U tube was looking at Joyner Vid or Assemblers stash.
I was speaking to a friend of a friend about this. He works for a developer I wont say which one. He said even if you did get the development firmware installed it wont help. The SDK PS3 is hooked to a pc and the ISO must be streamed over for it to show up in the ISO loader. The SDK ps3 can run burned blu-ray disc. But it must be a proper image and have the correct key. I hope that answer some questions. If you have any more let me know I'll ask him.
i thought the test ps3 is extremely limited when it comes to features? i thought it doesnt play any blue ray movies. and when i inserted a debug-ps2-game it didn't play. so how come regionfree ps2/psx games can be launched on test ps3s? (dont have one at my place currently to test it out myself)
A test ps3 can play any region/backup/debug ps1 and ps2 games and you can play ps3 retail backup games on it as well as long as you know what your doing.
thats strange i recall trying out a debug game for ps2 on the ps3 and it didnt work - a friend then told me i shouldnt bother trying bluray and dvds, since that doesnt work either. or is a higher debug-firmware required for that?
ok i just figured out that this must've been v1.0 debug-firmware on the particular ps3 i saw. so what will work on a ps3 40gig pal? ps3, psx games of all regions, divx/blu rays etc? or is there some restricted stuff too..
Retail PS3 is all PS3 games, bluray of the correct region, and PS1 of the correct region (Plus PS2 so long as the model supports it).
i know, it seems i didnt express myself clearly enough, i wanted to ask what the debug firmware on retail ps3 can do. play reviewcode/previewcode games (would be the best for me), play any psx games from any region? blu-ray-playback? dvd? divx?
