If I'm not mistaken you can cut the composite video connection from pin 9 on the AV out port and wire a sync signal from pin 7 of the encoder chip. This might fix the problem, but as a result there will be no more composite video.
My bad. I read that all PAL, except a early french version, didnt have it. But it turned out it was still a mod that had to be done in order to make it happen. Getting all confused with all the gamecubes and 64 mods... Nintendo should man up and make it easier by going only s video. (or not)
I'm really sorry if this is answered elsewhere, because I did spend over an hour searching trying to find out myself! Anyway, I just got my everdrive 64 (PAL version) and I have got the goodn64 roms. I also put on the 1.13 OS. The problem I am having is that PAL games run perfectly, but I can't get any NTSC games to run properly. They load, but the graphics are really warped, it kind of looks like they've all been smudged and had the colours distorted. I've tried to find settings to change and so forth, but I just cannot for the life of me get the NTSC games running. Is anyone able to help me out? Thanks in advance!
it is how your tv shown 50hz ntsc (or 60hz pal, i not sure). any tv guaranted should work with in standard mode, like pal 50hz, or ntsc 60hz, but may not work at all, in not standard mode, like in case when game region not match to system region
Thanks for the reply. So if I understand correctly, my TV is only showing 50Hz, and due to that the NTSC games will not work (as they require 60Hz), and so there is nothing I can do to get them working. Is that right? It seems strange that I can't find a way to get my TV to display 60Hz, given that it is quite a new model (it's a 3D Samsung), so I would have thought it could do all that sort of stuff. Oh well, luckily the PAL look great!
no, you not understand me correctly. your tv can show PAL signal in 50hz, and can show NTSC in 60hz, it is standard modes which will work, but your PAL n64 can't change sygnal type, but can change hertz, so ntsc game still work in pal mode, but with 60hz refresh rate. PAL 50hz works everywhere NTSC 60hz works everywhere PAL 60hz may not work with some tvsets (this mode if NTSC game was loaded on PAL system) NTSC 50hz may not work with some tvsets (this mode if PAL game was loaded on NTSC system) and don't care how much hertz can show yours tv, 120 hertz is just for stereo mode, 2x60hertz for each eye via hdmi or vga. pal or ntsc signal still work in 50 or 60 hertz on such tv
A website "gbatemp" did a review of the everdrive64. They gave it a lower score than 64drive (unfairly IMHO) and there are some really outrageous posts being made - http://gbatemp.net/topic/316539-everdrive-64-review/page__p__4033720#entry4033720 You may want to rebut these comments as that site has many thousands of potential buyers and they really are dragging the everdrive64 through the mud.
Krikzz does not need to rebut anything. That single post from that idiot does not mention any of his sources of information and you can see right through his post.
I have already had to fight a few 64drive fanboys posting on YouTube videos and other places spouting out of date or just flat out wrong information about the EverDrive64. There seems to be a lot of bad information that has been spread about the ED64. I am sure there are EverDrive fanboys as well, but it amazes me how crazy some people can get over defending a product. I guess when some people drop $199 on something they want to defend their purchase. I think they are both great products and now with new OS, bootloader, and v2 PCB they are pretty much on par with each other except when you talk about price. ED64 (Board Only) is a lot cheaper and even Deluxe Edition we sell comes with more and is still $24 cheaper.
His post was pretty funny to read. Like this gem, "ED64 shouldn't even be sold due to it using stolen software without permission." Don't you hate it when people steal without asking permission first? And this intelligent comment, "is made in a crappy country,". I'm sure he's an expert on your country. And the best "krikzz doesn't know how to fix it because he has no clue about what he's doing." You know KRIKzz I'm pretty impressed how far you've gotten and how many different Flash Carts you've made considering you have no clue what you are doing. ;-) People's stupidity and consumerist fanboyism can be shocking. Hopefully they will learn.
well, i just writing some random text into *.c files and move some files from folder to folder. after few months of such manipulations i got the everdrive. don't know how it works
If you look back at the GBAtemp thread now you'll see quite a few people defending the product rather than attacking it. I can't really give my opinion of the product until it arrives, but other than 6103 problems with 6105 games they're almost the same. The only point C-Kronos made that I could honestly say I agree with is when he says you keep on fixing stuff that should have been there when it was released. No offence Now that flashram and the 6106 bug is out of the way I don't think the argument is valid anyway. The review is meant to be on the current product, not when it was first released. Off topic Do you plan on adding RTC simulation in the future KRIKzz?
Sorry to bother everyone again, but I have another problem I can't sort out, and I have tried searching for the answer without success. My wife was playing Donald Duck Quack Attack, and it says it needs a Controller Pak to save. From what I read, the everdrive is able to save these games anyway, but I can't get it to. I reach the save points, and then press reset before I turn the n64 off. When I go back into the game later, it still tells me I need a controller pak, and there is nothing to load at the game main menu. What is it that I am meant to do?
there are several save technics. -games that save their data in the cart (working with the ed64, too) -games that save their data in the cotroller pak - here you need such a memory card for real ^^ http://n64.icequake.net/mirror/www.elitendo.com/n64/usa_boot_save_list.html cheers, saturnu
