You'd be very surprised at how much stuff the Japanese can squeeze in to a small box. The Xbox is American and as we all know bigger = better there while in Japan Smaller = better, so it's not that hard to grasp really. I see stuff all the time over here that amazes me. Even my phone still blows me away with all the stuff on it for it's size. Compare it to the latest Samsung or Western models with the same features (even though the aren't any that come close ) and they are always far bulkier. Yakumo
not only that, but people keep forgetting that x-box is designed by a pc company, hence the size, since it is a known fact that the first one was desingned as a stripped down pc with a modified ver of xp, still im curious if this fan made movie is revealing that the "technology that has been around for years" is actually virtual reality. Still i would not be suprised if vr is really what this thing will have, since it is a known technology, and would explain the whole feeling of buttons on the talked about pad, still im very curious to see that if it really is a vr system, the nintnedo has fully worked out the kinks of virtual reality, since i know it died out since people could never get the movement, control, and feel right, etc.
Well at anyrate the Xbox was very roomy for modders and such to work in. The original PS2 was already pretty tight and if the Revolution is just the size of about 3 DVD cases, that isn't going to be mod-friendly, but who cares about that in the first place -P. I thought the Xbox had a stripped down NT/2000 kernel in it.
Have you all seen this yet? http://onefed.com/media/NintendoON.wmv Looks too awesome for a fake, yet too full of BS to be real. "Make games" no chance! walk around the room with a headset on? you trip over your cat and Nintendo vanish in a sea of lawsuits... still, must have taken someone a while to do it!
That's almost impossible for a single person to have done, the intro alone would take ages in Premiere with all the stuff that's going on. The 3D renders really kill it though. There's so much work involved in that video it's surreal. Who's responsible and where did it come from?
Im sure we will find out soon enough.... Maybe it was something nintendo were playing with but have now abandoned.... it does remind me of some Oakleys sun glasses though. Cehck them out.
The six-plus minute video appeared on various message boards this afternoon and ever since Nintendo fans everywhere have been fighting to download it. The render, created by an unknown (and very talented) artist or artists, mocks-up what some Nintendo fans would call their dream scenario: a Nintendo Revolution that is so far ahead of the curve that it truly revolutionizes the way people play games. In this case, the console is no longer a console, but a virtual reality headset. The video is not real, but some fans probably wish it were. IGN has included the video in downloadable form. Readers are free to check it out. While it's unlikely that the render is at all an indication of the final system, which Nintendo plans to talk about and showcase at E3 2005, it's an impressive design feat nevertheless.
fake. too much like the game cube sign and style, too much retro, too much amateur and quickly-made like, and too much space invader like. Not that bad though. and about that video, can i have a link for a downloadable version anywhere?
Another faker: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y244/RedDrink/Revolution/Revolution-Black-Horizontal.jpg sorry cant resize it with firefox. Paulo: Then leave it as a link. Messes up the page.
- exclusive titles from SE, Namco, Sega will be shown - 8~10 titles from nintendo will be revealed - one is called Kenia (ACT / a teen who can control nature force) and one is called EG (horror adventure)
Wow, that video is incredibly neat, but incredibly unbelievable. That mockup of the system is crappiest thng I've ever seen. The video is of insanely high quality. I thought the introduction (with the old consoles) was kinda lame, but the thing with all of the mario castles was really neat. Still thouh, once I saw the system, the video lost any kind of believability. The whole thing together looked just like an American football helmet. Oh, the mario video at the end was neat, but what the hell did they do to him? All and all, videos and mockups and such are my favorite part of the pre E3 funfest.
even if its fake i found it amazing that it features even the size of the revolution console in it (the 3 dvd high thing) i mean the ? box in this image:
