Tested on a (20 pin) model 1 console and a (21 pin) 64 pin model 2 so far, working OK. Test chip being sent to Druid for testing before it goes into production.

I am, I just haven't had a chance to box up your consoles and get an accurate weight.

Perhaps I should just wait and purchase a large quantity for redistribution on this side of the pond.

Is there the source for the mod chip somewhere on the net? I have been thinking of tackling this but good to see someone else doing and seeing that it's also possible. Good job.

How did you come up with the code if you don't mind me asking.

Unlikely, in my opinion. If you were going to reverse engineer and reimplement it there would be no reason to carry on using the same obsolete MCU and PLD as the existing designs, so it's probably running a bit-identical copy of the original code. Apparently back in the day, lots of people had that code (which is why there are so many different modchips) - so either they managed to find someone that still had a copy or they decapped the chips and pulled the code from them.

Annoyingly, I actually know the guy that wrote the original code - but he doesn't have a copy of it any more.

If the PIC16F54 had the security fuses set, I believe it would require a decapping and selective erase to gain access to the code.

@BadAd_84...wanna take credit for this somewhat amazing feat? Or are you just "connected"?
